Amazon does not back items they sell you!!
This review is not about the item but about Amazon Customer Service. I purchase this item last year when we put in a pool so the kids could have something to pull them around. I decided to go with a more expensive sea scooter figuring that they would use it a great deal and it needed to stand up to a lot of use. Given we live in Colorado it is only used a few months out of the year so when we opened up the pool at the end of may the kids were excited to use the scooter. We charged it up and they went to use it in the pool. The minute my daughter pulled the trigger to go forward the plastic trigger snapped off, very surprising given the cost of this item.Given I am a prime member and spend a tremendous amount of money with Amazon I thought a simple call to customer service would solve my issue, I was DEAD WRONG!! My first interaction was with Nico who resided in Paraguay South America and had a difficult time understanding me. After 20 minutes of being put on hold for so called "research" I was told I needed to contact Sea-Doo and figure it out from there. When I explained that I did not by this from Sea-Doo but from Amazon he basically told me that he could not help me. I then, upon my request, was rerouted to the good old USA and spoke to a nice young lady who also told me that even though it said "sold and fulfilled by Amazon" it still was not their issue to deal with. After explaining my logic and that they sold it to me not sea-doo she agreed that it should be Amazons issue but her hands were tied.Being a prime member and spending north of $10k a year with them I am absolutely infuriated that this was my customer service experience. Given Amazon is the Costco of the internet you would expect they would try and emulate their customer service as well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For kids of all ages
I just ordered my 4th one over the years and have found them to be great. While it is true that you won't be doing a "007 - Thunderball" reenactment, they are still great fun. I use mine in a 20'x40' ,swimming pool when the guests will let me have it back. They are fun and you can expect about 3 - 4 years of constant use before the electronics go belly up on you. It is a must that the battery guidelines be followed or they will die prematurely. They are used constantly in my pool from June to September and I do mean constantly. Mine have worked out to about 8 -10 bucks a month over the life of the product. If they would make the electronics in the on /off / power controls better, I would have given them 5 stars. However, spending 10 bucks a month ain't too awful bad. They changed the controls to where instead of only having pull one trigger, you now must pull both triggers and instead of having two speeds, they only have one. Yet, I will still purchase more when mine die.

Fun doesn't last long
Bought two of these scooters and used for one week - one doesn't work now. The power is there but connection to propeller is not working. Fun when it worked. Only had for a month and no return or replacement option can be found,

Pretty good, but I'm 210 lbs and it struggles.
I bought this for our family to play with in the pool. It pulls the kids around quite nicely. I'm 210 pounds and it will pull me but not very fast. It stuggles to pull me to the bottom of the pool without my kicking to assist. We can play with it pretty much all afternoon without the battery ever going down. I have heard the cheaper ones can't even pull the kids around very well. My oldes it 7 and he is about 50 pounds. It pulls him around very well. He really likes it. As you have read, pulling the battery out to charge is kinds of odd, but not that big a deal. Takes a couple of minutes. By the way, ours got very scratched up from hitting the sides and steps of our pool. It really needs more rubberized protection along the bottom. I'm planning on finding something at the hardware store like rubber stick on pads or something to stick on the bottom so it won't get even more scratched up.
