Works well; good support
For the price, this unit is great. Issues a piercing alarm and seems sensitive to motion at least 15-20 ft away. Requires no Internet or WiFi, is simple to set up, and may be powered by either 3-AAA batteries or using your own standard 5V mini USB adapter . The supplied remote (with included button battery) is a great convenience since the unit may be mounted in an inaccessible location. Although there is no alarm delay, you can use the remote to arm the unit once you exit the detection range. I found that the alarm stops after 2 mins (unit remains armed). The chime alarm is less loud and just rings a single time - useful if you wanted a warning of intrusion while you were home. I had some initial concerns and found their support (via email) to be prompt and courteous.

This thing is great! We really like it!
No idea why this listing says it is a frequently return item?? This thing works great, and we love it! Had a problem with drunk from the bar doing a certain type of vandalism in our doorway and we installed this and it works great! Volume is super loud and it's a green security feature.

Very good Alarm for the Money.
Loud, very versatile, quickly shipped, and the remote adds a nice bit of convince. Bought some, tried them, was pleased overall, so I bought some more. Dropped a star in the "Ease of Use" category due to what I found to be instructions that are a bit less than perfectly clear and are printed in an unacceptably small "micro" font typeface. That said, gathering what I could from the instructions (nicely housed in booklet form) with some old school hands-on experimentation yielded the desired results, and I had multiple units up and running and paired with the removed in perhaps 15 minutes. The decibel-level put my concerns about how loud they are to rest--they are very loud. They can be toggled between a shrieking alarm setting (my choice) and a fairly typical "doorbell" sound, not as loud sounding as the alarm setting, but definitely loud enough for satisfactory use if you want them to alert you to folks entering you business, kids coming or going though certain areas of the house, or other such applications. They come very nicely packaged, each with a stand that can be screwed in place (screws included) or affixed with stick-on material (also included). And they sit soundly on flat surfaces, if you choose to forgo the above-mentioned types of more permanent mountings. Pickup (sensitivity) range is good, although in testing the devices I've had to get a bit closer than I would have otherwise thought to each unit before they begin to scream. To be clear, one doesn't have to get right up on them, but the trigger distance is a tad closer (around 0 feet or a bit closer) than I imagined it would be. That said, I have some (most) set at angles, so I haven't done a more "scientific" test with the units, coming toward them in a straight line (point A to point B) front-on approach. My guess is that the pickup/activation distance would increase were that the case. That too said, I am perfectly content with the above-mentioned triggering distance, as it suits my purposes just fine. Batteries are included and have functioned flawlessly for about 6 weeks so far, and they are still going strong. There's a handy USB charging option (to be used with rechargeable batteries, I suppose) but I'll unlikely use that option, assuming I continue to get this great "mileage" (or even better with higher quality, brand-name batteries?) using battery only power. The remote alarm (battery included) functions well overall, and comes in very handy, although the units can be programmed and turned on and off without the use of a remote. I have noticed a time or two that I may had to press a function button (to arm or turn off the units) more than once IF the alarm units happen to be spread out over significant distances, which happens to be the case. This is no big deal; I've simply made a habit of pressing the disarm button (and the arm button, too) twice while moving from one extreme end of my property to the other. Again, this is no fault per se, and the need for a repeat press of the remote button is by no means required in every case--I've just made a habit of doing it, just to be certain the signal has reached all units. This product seems to be made of quality materials and is a very nice, fairly small size (small enough that they do not call attention the themselves and are easily "concealable" if that serves one's purpose. I am very satisfied with these alarms, the only exception being the aforementioned ( "physically/literally") difficult to read and sometimes a bit difficult to understand instructions. In closing, I would (and already have) buy these again and recommend them to those seeking simple, effective, and versatile alarms that can be had at a very reasonable price.

A great value for peace of mind
I got this motion detector alarm as a deterrent against home burglars. For just under $30, it certainly delivers peace of mind. It's quite small, but puts out an ear-piercing siren which is just what I like for a burglar to hear as he's climbing in through my window. It can also be used as an electronic doorbell by simply pressing a button on the unit or remote. This gives it more utility and an even better value. One big thing about this alarm that I like is that it runs straight off electricity. This means I don't have to keep worrying about the battery level as to whether it will work or not, or if the batteries are a little low and wouldn't reliably sound the siren or be loud enough, or worse yet, start leaking. Yes, it does take 3AAA batteries (included), but they play more of a backup role in case of a power failure. Otherwise, it is powered by using a USB cord that can be plugged into a wall outlet or other USB slot. When I placed the sensor and then walked around to see where it would detect me, I noticed that there are a few small areas where it didn't see me, but that was remedied by simply turning the unit slightly to make sure it detected in a particular "zone". It also comes with a simple remote which includes a CR2032 battery. I tested it and was able to arm or disarm the unit from outside my house. I even went out to the curb in front of my house which is about 50 feet from my front door and was able to arm/disarm the unit which was in my living room. The remote feels a little flimsy in its construction, but hasn't stopped functioning. The good news is that if the remote became lost or nonfunctional, the unit can still be operated with the 3 buttons located on its top, although this would necessitate being able to press the on/off button from behind the unit and then exiting the area. The buttons on top of the unit seem solid and I don't anticipate them failing anytime soon.

works ok but limited mounting options
works fine if you can mount it right, it must be able to be mounted on its side. if it's mounted on its back then it'll be very far from the monitoring area and will miss actions. remote has a good range.

Only concerned about easily knocked from it's mounting bracket by intruders.

It cannot be programmed. It turns off automatically and does not respond to any programming carried out according to the instructions of the user manual. The remote control does not belong to the unit because it is not possible to make a connection between them as it is supposed to be done automatically from the factory. I advise not to buy it. Save your money !!

I bought this 1 year ago now, I use it almost every night since, and even sometimes turn it on while I'm in the shower. This little device is a must have for all solo nighttime anxious apartment tenants. Very glad that it comes with removable batteries so that I can recharge them, otherwise who knows how long this would have lasted. I will solo travel with this. I have a single entrance to my bedroom and I turn the alarm nightly with my handy remote. ONLY thing I dont like so far is that it can be silenced if you hit the top of it, which is great if you accidentally trigger it but crappy because an intruder can easily disarm it. because the batteries have a screw cover if they disabled that function, an intruder would literally have to break it to shut it off. That could distract them. It's a pretty big downside for me since I use it for security. I will buy another if I see it go on sale, I'd like to have a backup in case it fails. I'd also like to buy them for my single female friends. I studied product design, I like this product. <3

I am happy with the CPVan motion sensor. I use it sitting on a shelf. It detects motion in less than one second and emits a shrill siren sound audible anywhere in the house. I can arm and disarm it with the remote fob within the house very easily. It does not need line sight contact like a TV remote does. Very handy device for only $58 tax included.

Amazing, works exactly how you'd want it to and the instructions are very clear, damn is this thing loud, if you're right next to it it will make your ears ring which is exactly how I like it, it's definitely enough to scare someone away I also tried the remote from inside my house while the alarm was in my shed and could still hear it arming and disarming when pressing the remote so I love that it works really far away, and we have quite a large backyard and the sheds on the other side of it, this thing does what it says and I'm really happy with it
