Nice controller, cheap, and works well
This is a 4 star controller, but I bumped it to 5 for being very affordable.Fast, responsive, and with a micro dongle rather than the gigantic ones most controllers that are USB wireless come with.Direction pad is easy to press. The sticks are very smooth and center properly, no need to adjust the dead zone (I had to increase the deadzone on my XBox 360 controllers through Dolphin emulator since characters would continue to move on their own). The thumbsticks are buttons as well. 2 triggers, 2 bumpers. Works so far on both my Windows 8 PC, my surface tablet, and my Nvidia Shield portable.Controller is a little light which makes it feel cheap, but the controller works well so I haven't had any real issues yet.Input is Direct Input. People who are experiencing problems don't seem to know the difference between XInput and Direct Input, and simply plug in the controller and get frustrated. If you are trying to play Steam games, x360ce is your friend. If you are playing a game that lets you set the keys, this should work fine like any old USB controller would.Great value, purchased at $22, free shipping.

Relatively weak wireless range and a sub-standard directional pad hurt this otherwise decent Matricom controller.
As a gamer with multiple computers and Android devices, I'm always on the lookout for decent gamepads. I saw this one on sale for $9.90 on Amazon and picked it up. It's a 2.4 ghz wireless controller with a USB dongle and a turbo button. How does it perform? Read on.First off, the controller itself feels pretty decent. Obviously it doesn't measure up to first party controllers from the likes of Sony, Nintendo, or Microsoft, but the build quality is decent and it feels pretty nice. I had high hopes when I picked it up for the first time. Those hopes were dashed a bit when I actually tried it. It's not terrible, but it has a few glaring issues. The d-pad just doesn't feel good and is imprecise, especially with diagonal movements. It's also flatter than I'm comfortable with. Likewise, the buttons are a bit on the flat side as well. I often test controllers with various versions of Street Fighter II to see how they perform and this Matricom unit was OK at best... I couldn't reliably pull off Ryu's dragon punch of fireballs every time as I can with better controllers. The other major problem I ran into was with the wireless range. I'm typically about 12-15 back from the TV and device to which the dongle is inserted. This control pad has quite noticable input lag from that range. If you get to within about 8 or 9 feet, that lag vanishes. If you plan to use this more than 7-8 feet away from the device that the receiver is plugged into, I'd suggest passing on this device entirely, it's performance is completely unacceptable beyond that range. On the plus side, it works well at shorter ranges and has a rechargable battery installed as I wish all of these devices did. The turbo button can be a relatively handy addition to the standard controller, even if many games and emulators offer a similar feature through software these days. The analog sticks are a bit on the small side but feel solid.Another positive, particularly if you plan to use it on a windows PC, is that device works in both direct input and x-input modes. I mainly use it with Android devices (typically a Mad Catz MOJO, occasionally with an NVIDIA Shield Android TV or an ASUS Transformer TF103c) but have used it occasionally on windows based PCs as well.My final verdict on this controller is that it falls squarely into "meh" territory. It didn't really work in the way that I wanted it to and this is primarily used by my kids now. The wireless range is too short and the directional pad is not quite response enough and is too flat. If you plan to use it relatively close to the device that you've got the receiver plugged into and are primarily going to use the analog sticks for control, feel free to add a star to the review. Overall, I was a little disappointed, despite the low price.

The instruction booklet that came with mine was laughable. A few blank pages at the end, sentences cut off towards the right of the page. I had kind of figured I might need it after reading other reviews on here. Luckily I didnt. I ditched the booklet, and plugged both the controller and transmitter in to my Mac. First I tried an N64 emulator, and everything worked perfect. Then I tried a couple steam games (Black Ops and Dead Island) both of which worked flawlessly. Finally I plugged it into my Nexus 10 and tried playing Dead Trigger. Also worked perfectly.Update: Purchased June 29th. As of August 22nd it no longer works.

Incredible controller !!!!
It worked right out of the box. No issues with the drivers or anything on my Nexus player. The build is just GREAT!! Thumbs up to Matricom for excellent build quality. The reason i have it 4 star is because i think it wont work for local single screen multiplayer gaming with 2 of these controllers connected. The reason i say this is because i had my keyboard USB connected before i inserted the controller USB and no matter what i tried the games would not recognize key strokes because it thinks its connected to keyboard. It works normally as additional remote but not within games until i removed the keyboard USB. Another thing is i didn't experience any 3D feedback from few different games that i played so i am certain feedback doesn't work on my nexus player

Great gamepad!
This is a wonderful gamepad. Its default input mode is d-input (which registers it as a generic gamepad), but holding the middle button switches it to XInput mode (which registers it as an XBox Gamepad clone). So, no matter what app or game I've tried it with, one of the two methods works perfectly. I've used it successfully in several game system emulators, with Joy2Key to control my mouse/keyboard, and even plugged it into my Android tablet (with a usb2go adapter) - it worked perfectly, plug-n-play, each time.I particularly like that it charges instead of taking external batteries. The charge port is USB Mini-A, which is a little less popular, but it comes with a long cord so that's great! Also, having its own USB receiver dongle means I didn't need Bluetooth to use it.Buttons are fine - no sticking or recalcitrant inputs. In XInput mode, the trigger buttons register as a third axis (they're simple buttons in d-input mode). The analog sticks can press in and the Turbo function works as described in the manual (great for a little sorta-cheating at StarFox64 ;))All in all a great product.
