Yes, you can swap the SSD to a much higher one, but it will void the warranty.

Q: Does the DS71 model come with a 2nd drive bay? If it does can I put in my own 1TB SSD into the 2nd bay and use the full 1TB for extra storage?

Beware, there is NO second drive bay. The existing 128GB SSD is "on-board" and cannot be replaced. Of course you can replace the existing HDD with another SSD...that's what I did.

Battery life in normal use is 4 to 5 hours.
