It does work. Be patient with yourself!
Funny enough I first bought this product in 2019. I had numerous other cups but they all did not work for me. First, my uterus was low, I had VERY HEAVY flow for at least up to the 3rd day and I would leak no matter what I tried whether it was high capacity cup or cups designed for low uterus. Well, when I got this one, I was already fed up and left it for a LONG time. During that time I found out some things about myself. I had very tight muscles down there so by the time my cup was full (within hours), I could tell. Not only would I leak again, but I had this swishing feeling... too weird to explain. I also mastered my folding technique and realized one thing too... if you don't fold properly you'll push air up inside you which will cause a great deal of discomfort and may even create conditions for bacteria to grow. So make sure that even if you insert it, you squeeze the air out and use your fingers to manipulate around the edges to get it sealed. How will you know when its sealed; give it a gentle pull and it won't go anywhere! When you want to release you DO NOT PULL IT OUT! Squeeze it and then remove it in that pinched position. Why am I telling you all this. Because going on this journey requires patience and exploration. All the things that people complained about bitterly on various platforms what EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED. I needed something with crazy suction (or else I would pour). I needed something that would hold its shape no matter what (because my muscles were strong). You might have a collection before you see what works for you, but don't stop trying. The tampons and the pads ARE NOT WORTH GOING BACK TO. I took me years to figure out that I made the right choice in buying this one. Now I'm extending my collection. Love you all - Michelle

A successful first day with the Merula!
I’ve tried MANY menstrual cups. It’s always a joy when I have instant success with minimal effort. Today I wore the Merula for eight hours. Insertion was easy. I used a tight punch down fold. I had minimal bladder pressure, about the same as with other brands I like. It was super comfortable and removal was very simple. The ladder stem concerned me because it is so different, but it was a non issue. I have a very high cervix and it came in quite handy. All in all, a win!

Learning Curve with this Cup
I have a very high cervix, and have heard the Merula OS is great for it. After three cycles attempting to use this product I gave up. It can be incredibly difficult to open fully inside you. I watched countless videos on PACII and other websites, designed to be good resources, and followed the directions from Merula closely. It popped open inside me after 45 min of wear a few times (which was extremely painful), but I could not get it positioned correctly with any regularity. I had leaks and countless other problems. After one day at work, laying on the floor of our bathroom, watching videos, and crying because I could not get it positioned properly, I gave up. I found the Yuuki, which is definitely my goldilocks for a high cervix.

Have used a few different cups but the shape of this one is not for me. Well made and seems good quality though.

This cup checks all the boxes to be the best mentrual cup out there! At first I was intimidated by the size and shape when compared to my previous cup, but the design is flawless. Don’t be discouraged, it took me a few tries to get the right fit, even though I’ve been using mentrual cups for almost 2yrs exclusively. Once you ensure that it fully expands (a tiny pop that seems strange to say but is a welcome thought to ensure no leaks) then it’s completely secure and there’s not a single leak or concern. The loop(s) is an ingenious idea to help retrieve the cup, especially after sleeping so now trying to grab the bottom of the cup is no longer a struggle - just tug on the loop slightly and deflate the suction. If you’re familiar with mentrual cups you will not be disappointed by this one, if you’re new be prepared for a little discomfort and leaking at the start until you get the hang of things.
