Worked good for me!
This chalk pen has a nice slim tip, that makes it easier to make finer marks on projects. This is best for NON-POUROUS surfaces. The item description says so... And the seller was actually pretty awesome and even sent an email alert before processing the order to alert me to this fact -of which I was not aware because I hadn't read the description fully. I'm guessing that they went so far, means most people don't either. I was planning on using it on a pourous surface... But I couldn't find another fine tip chalk marker- so I ordered it anyway, yes, despite being told not to. So- if you are like me: First- don't make a mistake. I outlined my wording in pencil first and then traced over it. Second- The ink is going to fade into it, because that's what the Pourous surface does. I inked- let it dry. Then went over it and it was fine.

Pretty good
I purchased this along with some labels so I could create my own, uniform spice jars. (I purchased my jars from Pfalzgraf.) This came up as a recommended item to go along with the labels. I received this email after I purchased it: "I just spotted that you bought our Chalk Markers through Amazon so wanted to send a quick message full of important information. Many people ignore our disclaimers that SuperChalks are for use only on non-porous surfaces and ruin their porous chalk boards. We do not want you to ruin your chalk board or wall, so PLEASE read the below information carefully. If you bought these markers without realising that they are only for use on non-porous surfaces - then please follow the link below to cancel your order: ------------------------------------------- If you have read this e-mail after the product has shipped then please contact us immediately by clicking here: --------------------------------------------------- Please quote your order number (-----------------------) and we will arrange for your product to be returned so you can be given a full refund. Very Important Note Like all liquid chalk products, these Chalk Markers are designed to be used on non-porous surfaces. A non-porous surface is one that does not easily absorb liquid. Examples of typical non-porous materials that these markers ARE suitable for are glass, metal, sealed ceramic (NOT raw pottery) or plastic. Be careful that your chalkboard manufacturer has not painted chalkboard paint over absorbent wood. This will mean your chalkboard is porous and the markers will most likely stain and smudge your chalkboard. If you are unsure whether or not your chalkboard is porous then you may wish to consider testing. The easiest way to do this is by using the liquid on a tiny piece of the corner, leaving for two minutes and then simply applying a damp cloth. If the mark vanishes without a blemish then you should be good to go. Directions Before use shake the marker well. Then depress the tip on to a scrap piece of paper and hold for 10 seconds. Let the ink flow out until it completely coats the tip. For the best results this should be repeated three times. Please note that only light pressure is needed when depressing the tip. Heavy pressure may result in bending or damaging the tip. Now relax and enjoy your brand new Chalk Markers. If you have any questions or problems please do not hesitate to get in touch so that we can help you out. Kind regards, Joe Co-Founder of Precision Kitchenware" I thought it was nice to receive the email - it basically reiterates what the description says but I guess they get enough people ordering and returning this that they need to send it out. When I received this I tried to follow the instructions but I had to leave it pressed down a LONG time before the ink would reach the nib of the pen (at least 1-2 minutes...SEVERAL times). One it did, it worked great! I wrote the names of the spices on all of the labels. The dry time can take a bit so don't touch it for a while or you'll smudge and have to wipe it off and rewrite stuff. I wish it wrote more solidly but in some places the pressure creates darker marks while in others a bit lighter. --------------------------------------------------------- Updated review: After having used this pen for my spice labels, I have realized I cannot touch the chalk writing whatsoever. More than once I've rubbed off the chalk completely or at least a large portion of the type just by having a finger over it. I was hoping it would "stick" to the label a bit better.

My favorite chalk markers
I have been looking for a good quality chalk marker for a long time and I finally found it with these SuperChalks markers. I have the thinner tip white markers and the thicker multicolored pack. I have ordered a few of these for myself and for gifts. The colors are so nice and bright, even the brown shoes up on a black chalkboard. I will definitely continue to purchase these! These work best on vinyl chalk and non porous surfaces. I have used them on regular, pourous chalkboards but it is much harder to erase. You should consider it to be permenant if used on a pourois chalkboard surface (which I want sometimes anyway).

Ruined my non-porous chalk surfaces
Worked great the first day. It writes easily and wiped away easily and completely when I made mistakes or wanted to change my label. The next day, it wouldn't wipe off. I scrubbed with cleaning products and got it somewhat off one surface, though you can still see what was written. On the other chalk surface, it won't budge - keep in mind I had no problem removing it 24 hours earlier. I am so disappointed in this product. I heeded the warnings and made sure not to use it on a porous surface, and tested it beforehand. Now my chalkboards have permanent markings on them. Don't buy this unless you plan to keep the writing permanent.

Easy Peasy
Love this chalk marker pen. I could not figure out how people got their chalk labels to look so perfect. I kept trying with regular chalk and they looked terrible. I finally found this and it is a breeze! I shook it up and then pressed it on a non-porous surface until the tip filled with the liquid. As the instructions indicate this step can take up to 2 minutes so don't give up! There was a business card included with the chalk pen that said to visit www.superchalksextras.com for a free bonus liquid chalk guide. That was not a valid website so I am not sure why the business card was included. Great product at a fair price.

Works good but tip is too thick.
It's ok, it does what it's supposed to do and if you follow their instructions you won't have any problems (I even got an email with tips which was very nice) The only thing I don't love is that the tip is very thick and for writing on spice jar labels it's hard. If you are writing on something bigger it should be ok.
