I already knew most of the hymns, and it's a great, good-quality recording, too. I think you'll like 'this' one!

Johnny Cash doesn't do gospel for me
I thought I couldn't go wrong with Johnny Cash but I just don't like some of his renditions of these Gospel songs. Everything was great with the order though.

Good supplement to My Mother's Hymn Book
Johnny Cash was a deeply flawed, but also highly religious, man. His last albumns for the American label, produced by Rick Ruben, are full of songs in which Cash grapples with his impending death, and his relationship with God. But Cash did not come to this genre late in life. This albumn, The Gospel Music of Johnny Cash, focuses on his religiously inspired work from decades past.A very good collection. Highly recommended.
