Should have bought this long ago.
This unit is small and gets the job done with ease. It did take me a little while to get it setup with my SmartLife app, which is not the app they help you set up in the instruction. I just prefer to use the SmartLife app so with some patience and determination I was able to get it going. It only took a few minutes to figure it out so no big deal.I also like the look of the unit. I mean it's a window AC and for it not to be ugly is quite the accomplishment.I am using this in my Craft/Maker/Hobby shop and is not the best insulated part of my home plus it has a 3D printer giving off heat most times of most days with the bonus of a really hot summer it got the job done and kept the room cool while also reducing humidity. The room is 10 x 20 foot but there is another 10 x 20 foot room opposite of a partitioning wall that has no insulation at all in one section. Other than the missing insulation the wall is solid from floor to ceiling and from the front to the back of the room and this AC has somehow managed to cool that room considerably this summer.I recommend this little AC unit and it has been great. I also love that with the app I can schedule it easily from my phone to autoadjust in many ways but my favorite is when it comes on when I turn the lights on in the room. The remote that came with the unit is nice as well but I honestly have only used it once when I first installed the batteries. After that I have used nothing but the app or the smart scenes.

Great Air Conditioner for the price!!
I finally had to buy an air conditioner for my home due to my COPD and breathing problems in hot, humid weather. This Emerson 15,000BTU Smart AC fit the bill. I have a 1120sq ft house, with a good size living room, master bedroom, kitchen and a smaller second bedroom.I needed a large window unit that would fit in my master bedroom window that would cool the whole house. It barely fit in my window, I knew it was going to be close according to my measurements. The accordion slides on the left and right sides are all the way collapsed as far as possible and the fit is great! Perfect, with no deadair spots or gaps. A little copper pipe insulation around the outside window and I have a perfect, tight seal. I did purchase a window support.I read all the Amazon reviews and paid close attention to the square feet of space people were cooling. The highest I saw at the time was about 700sq.ft.Based on what was said about how well it cooled an area this size, I gambled it would do the job in my 1125sq.ft. house. My bedroom, where my AC is located, was a frosty 58°, on a 90° humid day outside, my living room stayed at a cool and comfortable 66° and my kitchen was about the same. All the humidity in the house was gone and pouring out the drains in the bottom of the AC outside to the ground. Perfect!!I couldn't be happier with this purchase. My cooling costs have only increased about $40 per month, running constantly in midsummer heat and humidity in Michigan. The Smart AC capabilities are awesome!! It's far better than trying to use the remote that comes with it cause it has a very limited range and you have to be pointing it directly and the AC.The Smart feature let's you control your AC from your cellphone anywhere in the world, nevermind anywhere in your house!!I did have a bit of a problem getting it signed into my home network, but a few tries and it sprang to life immediately!!I would definitely recommend this AC.Jeff StearnsWhitehall MI

The Emerson 8000 btu Quiet Cool was the right unit for me.
I was shopping to replace my old, weak 6k btu model. My room on the second floor gets extremely hot and both side branch off to follow the pitch of the roof with a walk-in closet on one side and a large nook on the other. The room is more the half the size of the entire first floor.I wanted a unit that was more quiet and had the power to cool the room quicker than the old 6k model did. My husband wanted the ability to control the unit via wi-fi and we both wanted one that was energy efficient. When I put all of our needs together, I found a new 8000 btu offering from Emerson called a Quiet Cool.I've had this unit for just over a month now and have used it nearly everyday. I am really happy with the power of it. It cools this top floor extremely hot room in a matter of 15-20 minutes. It has dual vents so I can stream equal amounts of air toward both sides of the room. I don't know that I would call it quiet as that is a little misleading. It is more quiet than my old unit, but I still have to turn my tv up some when I have the unit running. However, it doesn't make any clunking or grinding noises and I sleep just fine with it running all night long. Even if I have it on eco setting, it shuts itself off and on several times during the night to maintain a set temperature and doesn't disturb my sleep doing so. My husband has yet to get the wi-fi control to work, but I didn't buy the unit for that anyway. Me and husband put it in the window in about 5 minutes. Fit like a glove and the accordian sides slid right in the window jams, snug and secure. The unit is very compact and lighter than my old one, but it's still built really rugged and the accordian sides are far more sturdy and strong than my old unit. So I am not worried at all that it might tip out. I didn't need a bracket for added support either. That's how well and securely it fit in the window.I would have rated it a five if not for the temperamental wi-fi control. If my husband ever figures that out and gets it to work, I'll add the extra star.
