Accurate. Works. This thing is a must have. Battery life is long, easy to use. Everyone should have one. Lifesaver.

That is exactly what I was looking for. Usually only use this when I go out or if I met a friend’s house this one specifically tells me approximately how long it will take for me to become sober. it’s a great price for this item considering what a potential DUI would cost. It’s very easy to use as you push the button. It turns on takes three seconds you blow into it for eight and then it gives you a calculation. It’s a high-quality in the battery does see the last quite a while. It also sync with your phone so you can track your BAC as you wish.

I was looking at purchasing a BAC device for a few years. I was hesitant to spend the money, fear it wouldn't be reliable, and if I thought I had too many then there really wouldn't be a need for proof. Well, we had a friend who recently received a DUI when they didn't believe they were over our state's .08 limit. They ended up having to get a device installed in their car that keeps the car from starting unless they were below .02. They supplied them with a portable breathalyzer to make sure they were low enough before attempting to blow into their car device. I started using their breathalyzer to keep an eye on my level, out of curiosity. The strange thing is I kept creeping over the legal limit when it didn't feel like I had much to drink at all! So I decided on making the decision that I needed one of my own. I compared the C8 to the one provided to our friend. The readings were the same measurement to the 100th and over many tests throughout the week. The same, every time! Now, I make sure I don't get that last alcohol drink, drink water and let time pass before I drive. Now I have proof I am over, even though I don't feel like it. It's so true... you can't tell when you reach the legal limit! I am so glad I purchased this before something bad happened to me or anyone else! Also, important note... To get the reliability of any BAC device, you need to wait at a minimum of 15-20 minutes BEFORE you test or the alcohol on your breath will throw it up and out of range. Thanks, BACtrack! I highly recommend this product for reliability, portability, and ease of use! I keep this with me at all times and if I forget it at home, I don't drink. I learned that I can't trust a feeling over being over the legal limit and need absolute truth!

Over a span of five minutes, I conducted five tests using consistent breath pressure, yet the results varied dramatically, with differences as high as 0.075% BAC. Several readings incorrectly indicated an over-the-limit BAC, while others failed to provide a reading altogether, which raises serious concerns about reliability. This level of inconsistency undermines the device’s purpose, as precise and dependable measurements are critical for a breathalyzer. While the optional smartphone connectivity is a nice feature in theory, it doesn’t compensate for the core issue of inaccurate readings. For casual use, the BACtrack C8 might seem like a fun novelty item, but for anyone needing reliable, accurate BAC measurements—whether for personal safety or legal purposes—this unit is not up to the task. I would recommend looking into alternative devices with proven accuracy and consistency. Rating: 2/5 – Sleek and portable, but unreliable readings make it unsuitable for serious use.

I’m so glad I bought this. It’s small and accurate. Not only does it tell you your BAC, it tells you how long until you’re sober. Buy it.

I have only had my breathalyzer for almost a week. Here's what I love so far... The Size of this breathalyzer is fantastic. The unit worked first time after put battery (1 AAA) blew until the beeping noise stopped after watching the very clear countdown from 5. I had not been drinking and did blow a 0.0 first time. When asking my son and husband to try, they both blew the same 0.2, but I was informed by them that they both used mouthwash that morning (test was about 3pm) and it does detect the alcohol in the mouthwash. BTW, using mouthwash to hide drinking is always a bad idea, it will elevate your numbers and most police are wise to the smell of fresh mouthwash. This little cutie also has a wonderful addition where it tells you after you blow and get your rate of alcohol, the amount of time you need to stop drinking and wait to drive. Incidentally, when it was only 0.2, it said to wait over an hour to drive without impairment. I also purchased the case that is available for this item and so glad I did. The case will keep the unit safe as well as clean. It is a hard shell with a zipper. I have the extra mouth pieces I purchased also in the case, in the other pouch available. If you keep the case and unit in your purse or car, you will always know the answer to that very important question... "To drive or to Uber?", as well as how long you should wait if you still want to take your car. I believe this is a small price compared to getting pulled over and in trouble. The costs of time off, and other legal issues is far more expensive vs the purchase of this little gem. I will get back and review again after having it for a few months.

Petit appareil d'alco-test et fonctionne très bien. Facile d'utilisation, il suffit de souffler pendant le bip sonore et d'arrêter à l'arrêt de son. Lecture rapide et aussi la fonction de donner le temps à atteindre le 0 alcool est très rapide. De plus essayer de tenter de trouver le taux alcoolémie est très instructif et on en apprend sur notre propre consommation. Je recommande aussi d'acheter le coffret pour le ranger.

Great product appears to be quite accurate.

Really good. App is easy to use and seems pretty accurate. We’ve tested it with several people and kept track of what each of us have drank and it matches the amount of units very closely. Obviously I wouldn’t recommend using anything if the law depends on you being sober but this is very good for everything else.
