Django Reinhardt Anthology: Transcribed and edited by Mike Peters

Accurate transcriptions
There are many books on the market containing the works of Django Reinhardt. I have a few and this one seems to be the one I spend the most time with. I can attest that the transcriptions are accurate to the original recordings. The book contains transcriptions in standard notation only. There are linear type notes to each piece that are very interesting. There is not much written on technique. The book includes transcriptions of both Django's compositions and standards.I think the book is well worth the price just for the transcription of "Echoes of Spain". I never thought I could get that sound with my level of playing. That is in itself a testament to the value of this book.

Best Django Book I've bought.
This book is great and has alot of hard to find transcriptions. Highly recommend this book for anyone learning django's gypsy style. It's all in standard notation, if you can't read it, the time it takes to transpose to tabliture is well worth it, the songs are very accurate. Add this to your collection!

waste of money
I bet whoever gave this book a good review was promoting it for the publishing company. This is a terrible book. The transcriptions are not accurate to the recordings. Most of the songs are only given 1 page of transcription-- whole parts are left out, it doesn't include most of the solos, and completely ignores things like grace notes and trills. It includes simplified versions of what Django played; what is the point in that? Do not waste your time or money on this book.

Very Nice!
This is a great book, and worth it for the Naguine transcription alone. The historical tidbits about each songs are useful, as well as the dates of the recordings. It can sometimes be frustrating to have a transcription of a song with multiple recordings/versions, but this book clearly mentions which version/record label release the sheets are based on. Tabbers beware that there is no tablature and it's all in standard notation. This was a plus for me because I really only like to read the sheet music and often tabs clutter up the pages to the point that I have to turn the page every eight or nine bars.

Great Django transcriptions
I'd highly recomend this book to anyone interested in Django's music. I've been using this book for several years, the transcriptions are accurate and include some of his best songs. Get it, you'll love it!

2 solo pieces
Contains accurate solo transcriptions of Echoes of Spain and Naguine, not in tab though. Worth the price for these alone.

Dommage.
