Sturdy, simple, awesome. A must-have car-camping tool
This is an awesome rake. I had one like it for many years but after leaving it out in the rain a few times, like an idiot, I live in western Washington State, it rusted and I eventually broke the handle. I wanted to fix it, but never did, and spent years without one as a result. Camping with my brother a couple of weeks ago he asked me what happened to my rake as he labored to clear his tent site with a branch. So when I got back I went blind online trying to find "THE" rake. There's so many lame aluminum ones out there. But this is THE one. Steel, strong, light and simple to operate. It has detentes to extend the handle which securely hold it in two positions, only two, extended and retracted. Not the infinite twist tighteners that slip and fail to hold. The tines are easily and infinitely adjusted with a locking lever from a wide fan to the tightly closed position. I loaned it to my nephew who used it last weekend and raved about it. I sent him the link and yesterday he sent me a pic, "Say hello to my little friend!" He picked one up too. So should you. You wont regret it. Just don't leave it out in the rain!

Best tool I've bough this year!
This rake is my fav. new tool.If you do a lot of gardening, and you find yourself raking leaves, mulch and pea gravel in tight quarters, you are going to LOVE this rake, it's light weight and has a telescoping handle which means it 'stores small'. But the best thing about it is that the tines of the rake can quickly and easily adjust from 1/4" apart to 2" apart with great accuracy, so no matter what the material (or space between two rocks you are raking for example) this rake quickly adjust to suit the task. The little 'lever' which can be opened to adjust the tines is covered in soft rubber and has a nice 'action'. Since pea gravel comes in very precise dimensions, it's great to have a precise tool to use to extract the detritus from it.Great tool!PS If I HAD to fault it, I'd observe that the telescoping handle is a little on the delicate side for a gardening tool, but this item is not intended to rake your whole yard in the fall; it's for more custom and precision work.

Adjustable rake is great for small yards but the handle could be longer
I bought this rake to use in my very smaller yard. The adjustable size allows me to use it in tight spots where regular size can’t go so it’s pretty convenient in that regard. However, when use in the largest setting the handle gets really short and it’s not very ergonomic in that regard. Overall the rake seems pretty durable. To summarize, Adjustable settings is great, I just wish the handle was longer.

Fantastic for leaves and de-thatching. Don’t use to spread mulch.
We had a little hesitation about the price but really needed something adaptable and lightweight. We used this rake happily for 2 years for dethatching our lawn and raking leaves. Last week we used it to spread heavy mulch and quickly bent all the tines. Don’t do that. (Now we know.). It has held up beautifully for all other normal raking proposes, and is so versatile and easy to use that we had no hesitation about getting a second one.

Works great for what it was intended
Reading reviews for this product makes me sad for the human race. Fall here. 32 trees in our yard. No, I did not attempt to rake up all the leaves with this. I used my brain and utilized a leaf blower and a mower with a bagging system. I will save this PORTABLE COLLAPSIBLE rake for more suitable purposes like camping or light duty where carrying a full sized car rake is not possible. Maybe a great thing to keep in a golf cart or side by side. I did use mine some today to rake up a few piles of leaves and my 77 year old old mother and a 4 year old and 7 year old figured out how to use it, expand it and collapse it in a manner of seconds. A nice little tool for what it was intended for. Not a shovel. Measured 32 inches collapsed.

The answer to most people's problems with this rake.
The media could not be loaded. People seem to think that this is too short of a rake. I believe that is because they do not realize that the pop-up button goes to both the lower hole as well as the upper hole. I was looking for a way to extend the top part of this rake while the pop-up button was in the lower hole. Don't! What you simply do is push in that pop-up button and pull the top part of the rake up so that the push-up button pops out of the top hole. That makes this rig approximately 5 and 1/2 ft. Very usable. Very well constructed. Solid steel in part of it and maybe aluminum and other parts. I have not taken this out to my yard yet but I am sure that it will work well. The slide for extending the width of the rake portion is easy to use and self-intuitive. It's simply pull down on the red handle and push it down to make it wider on the business portion of this unit. Pull it up to make it Not as wide. Once you get it to the position you want, simply bring the red lever up against the pole. Now that I've realized the problem was me and not to rake be in stuck, I am sure I'm going to love this Rick. That's why I gave it five stars. I am normally east to four star maximum person. And I do not mind giving one star. However in this particular case it is so well-built that I gave it five stars even before I have used it. Love it!

Super functional, but slightly weak!
First day I used it I loved it. Great design and features. Problem is next day I used it for same thing (raking up leaves, pine needles in the yard) it gave me some troubles. Though it did its job. I found when extended fully in length it is actually kind of weak metal. I was moving a few large piles of mixed leaves, dry pine needles and some wet pine needles. When trying to move a bigger chunk under pressure it actually slightly bent in the middle. I didn't notice until I was done and looked at the rake and saw a slight bow in the middle of the rake. By no means am I a huge burly guy I am 5'9" 170lbs and i still was able to actual bend the rake. I was able to bend it back but who knows how long until it bends again. Would love for this rake to last me awhile, but i guess only time will tell. If they made a nicer one with better metal like 316 or 304 stainless or some kind of titanium alloy I'd be down to pay more.
