It's Tim Holtz, but...
Well, I usually like Ranger and Tim Holtz - at least most of the time. Unfortunately, I didn't realize that I'd purchased the "mini" version of the Distress Ink in the Walnut stain colorway. I don't mind paying what it costs for their product because it is usually SO DARN GOOD! -- I've included my Vintage Photo regular size ink pad in the photo along with mini and the inches marked on the cutting mat below the ink pads for size reference. So two things, not noticing the "mini" part is on me, but this ink pad could have been called the Tiny Mini, for the price I paid. 🙄😕 -- The even less good thing is that the ink pad doesn't have much ink in it that's accessible to a regular rubber stamp. (What the heck is THAT about???) I won't say it arrived DRY, but there isn't much liquid ink in there and I have to work at it to get enough ink on the stamp to have it show up, unlike their usual other inks. I know we've had a warm summer and fall but I really was hoping for a better result. The whole point for me to buy this Walnut stain color is how rich and beautiful it is as I've seen it in action at my friend's house. She had a full size ink pad and it was nicely inked though. 😞 Pretty disappointing for me. I would NOT recommend getting the mini size of ink pads. All that being said, I really do love this color and will try again (I'll get the full size ink pad as well! ) and hopefully I will be happy dancing when I get a nice nearly juicy ink pad just full of that Walnutty goodness!(Here's hoping!)

Ink
Whoa! It is a very small ink😐. I must have not read the description right and thought it was full size. Just threw me off but the ink itself is great. I must order the regular size..😁

Distress Inks, reliable and easy to use
The Distress Inks are almost bullet-proof from a reliability perspective. The only issue you will ever have is color and that's a personal choice. If you're unsure, choose the mini size.

It's dark!
It's smaller than I expected but maybe I just don't know measurements! lol And it is dark so keep that in mind.

NOT DRIED OUT!
It can be so difficult to get a stamp pad and not have it be dried out. I’ve had to return several because of this. This one was perfectly moist, stamped beautifully right away. I’m very happy with this purchase. Oh and the color is beautiful! I would describe it as turquoise blue. More to the turquoise side.

Waste of money
This ink pad arrived from USA to U.K. and I’m not sure if it’s fake or old but it’s dry and almost useless! A complete waste of money.I have tried to contact the seller and they reply with a generic message harping on about delays due to covid. They simply ignore the real issue. They finally set up a return but I have to pay the postage! Please avoid this seller on Amazon.

Lovely grass-green reactive dye ink.
Per all Distress products this is a dye ink designed to give slightly imperfect coverage and then react with added water to give a grunge-y effect. It works well with rubber stamps (red and grey) but less so with photopolymer and not really at all with the cheaper silicone polymer ones. Ideally for Distress you need rubber but don't expect a perfect result like Memento or Archival - this isn't meant to do that. This is a mini-ink pad so you can store round blending foam inside the base and/or store the pad in the mini-ink pad tins. This is advisable for storage as the lids do not lock! The ink is provided on a thick felt pad that gives fantastic direct-to-paper application as well as being great on stamps or with a blending tool. You can dab it onto an acrylic block for "ink smooshing" methods or paint with it using a waterbrush like you would any watercolour or you can use it to colour texture pastes. So versatile! As for the colour - Mowed Lawn is the only true mid-tone green in the Distress range (the other greens are blue-ish or yellow-ish) and it is near to what a painter would call Permanent Green I guess but it is THE most useful colour as it's perfectly grass-like and just perfect in that regard if you're doing outdoor scenes and whatnot! It is dark enough for stamping but direct to paper you can get some great effects and it blends well with Squeezed Lemonade in this range to give a pretty gradient which is really fun.Strongly recommended for lovers of Distress who want a true green or those new to the range.

A versitile acid-yellow reactive dye ink

It is probably too pale for stamping but direct to paper you can get some great effects and it blends well with Abandonned Coral in this range to give a "tequila sunrise" gradient which is really fun.Strongly recommended for lovers of Distress who want a true yellow or those new to the range.

Good quality and worth it!
I love this ink pad it is easy to store as it stacks onto the others I have. The colour is just right for what I need it for. It's suitable for stamping and blending in scrapbooks, art journals or anywhere you fancy. It can also be put on a palette diluted with a little water and used as a water colour paint. I have had wonderful results of water colour and blending. Definitely worth the price, good quality and I'm definitely going to buy more in lots of different colours! 😁

So versatile and so many lovely colours
I am completely new to distress inks, stencilling and paint effects in general. I was a little reluctant to spend a lot of money in case I just didn't get on with them. Spotting that I could buy mini pads made me decide to give it a go. I only bought 3 to begin with (Broken China, Wilted Violet and Cracked Pistachio) which I think work really nicely together. I love the different effects you get with blending and/or spraying with water.Am looking forward to lots more playing - and adding more colours to my collection
