LOVE THIS SOCK! WORKS!
I LOVE THIS SOCK!!! This sock has saved me from enormous amount of pain, and I'm speaking in all CAPS! I am 34 and within the past couple weeks I was diagnosed with plantar fasciitis and I was not able to get my heel in a comfortable place at all nor sitting or standing. I was introduced to this by a coworker who had only heard of it but I needed to check it out myself. I have slept with no socks on my whole life and my plantar fasciitis came out of nowhere, and I can honestly say after 4 nights in this sock my heel pain is almost non existent during the day or in the morning waking up. My toes are super comfortable inside, and the band even though it looks awkward I haven't had problems sleeping with this on the whole night. It can be a little tight around the calf just under the knee but it does its job of holding the sock up and with the band being used. This sock is super comfortable regardless of the tightness bc my foot feels great!! Its inexpensive and it JUST WORKS! I am so thankful for this product

Works ok but fit is terrible
I ordered the large because I have wide calves (medium build at 160 lbs). I developed plantar fasciitis in my right heel while pregnant, but I cannot keep wearing this. It’s too long, for one thing, so it goes up over my knee unless I fold it over. The compression fabric leaves my entire lower leg/foot very swollen by morning and the band (without fastening the Velcro at the top) is so tight that I’ve started to bruise. The mechanism does seem to help with the plantar fasciitis but the swelling and bruising are not worth it. Maybe try something else if you have wide calves.

Poor quality control, but two good suggestions on how to use it to make it easier/less painful to use
I bought this in the hopes that it would help with my PF on both feet. I am giving it two stars because it has already started to fall apart after using it for only two weeks. Specifically, the seam at the top where the D-ring is held has started unravelling. I don't know if I can sew it up so that it is strong enough for use again. This should not happen after only two weeks. Now for the two suggestions. It is marketed for use during sleep, and a lot of people find that understandably uncomfortable. Instead, I use it for a couple of hours a day while I am resting and reading. I don't watch TV, but if you do you could use it then too. This does help to stretch the calf muscle. The second suggestion is for those folks who say it hurts their toes. That happened to me also when I first tried it. My solution, which works great, was to insert into the socks one of the plastic shoe inserts I also bought for PF (e.g., Superfeet). My foot rests on the insert, and the sock is over that. And Voila! No more toe pain!!!Update: I sent a note to the company about the quality control issue, and I got a reply back the next day saying that they would send me a new one, which they did. Hopefully this one will not have the same issue, and I will see if the sock helps me. Given the company response, I’ve updated the review to three stars, and if I use it now for a while and it helps reliee the PF then I will update the review again.

I used to be able to keep it in check with orthotics or really good, solid shoes
First, I'll say I don't normally post reviews, but this has been so "life changing'', I want to tell anyone who will listen. I'm sorry this is so long. I have had plantar fasciitis off and on for about 20 years. The pain was at times unbearable and I walked with a limp nearly all of the time.I used to be able to keep it in check with orthotics or really good, solid shoes, but it would always randomly come back and even when I felt good, I couldn't stand for long periods of time or even think about running.Recently, I decided I was done "fooling around" with it and wanted it fixed. I progressed to therapy, then 4 cortisone shots over a year, which helped for about 2-4 weeks each, then a shot of dehydrated amniotic fluid called amniofix and a walking cast for 3 weeks, which did nothing, then a newer procedure called tenex, where a needle is inserted into the tendon and vibrates so fast it gets rid of the scar tissue, blood vessels and calcification that have built up on the tendon, then 3 more weeks in a boot. Still no improvement. The doctor recommended the Strasbourg sock, which seemed so gimmicky to me, but I was willing to try anything. The 3rd night I wore this sock, my foot just felt "different" when I got up. It felt better. It felt stronger. All day. Yes, it's tight around my calf, but not so tight it really bothered me and I had no problem sleeping all night with it.After a few more nights, without realizing it, I started wearing the sock looser, with my toes straighter, rather than pulled up as far. My plantar fasciitis kicked back up and witching a few nights, it hurt like it had before I was wearing it. I finally realized what I was doing and started pulling my toes up a little tighter again. Within just 2 nights, it was gone again. It has now been 4 days pain free. The longest I've been pain free in 2 years. I feel like I am walking on air. I know it's only been 4 days, but I am so happy I wanted to share. I will continue wearing the sock for at least another week and take it with me when we go to Europe in September, just in case and I'll try to update from time to time to let you know if it's a permanent fix for me.

Not a fan
It was recommended by an acupuncturist as a remedy (hopefully) for my planter fasciitis. It did not work well for me. it was uncomfortable to sleep in, annoying and I am a light sleeper so I might be part of the problem as well. I would not waste my money on this again. There are exercises to do that work better.
