Q: Does this model replace the Resi-tronic II model 2004001

if you were to search for this model number PES120ET8-12SMT and look at the web site for a BALLAST SHOP, they list this as being equivalent to the 2004001, but at a special price that's considerably more than it is here.

Q: Ballast failed after six months. 5 year limited warranty. How does one get warranty replacement?

Find mailing address/e-mail address of manufacturer and contact them. If you have mailing address send defective ballast back to them along with a letter and tell them what happened. I doubt that AMAZON.COM will give you any replacement ballast, maybe they will ! Tell AMAZON.com about your defective ballast. I don't know what to tell you. You'll figure something out. GOOD LUCK.

Q: Can this replace a ballast that is .45a/300v? this one shows .85a/450v?

Forget this use LED florescent tube replacement, www.LEDking.com, that what I did got sick of replacing these expensive ballest.

A Friendly HELLO: I have purchased several of these PES 2 Lamp Ballasts. They work GREAT for/as a lightweight replacement ballast for use with the correct fluorescent bulbs. I use the PES 2 with a 4 foot long 3/4" diameter bulb. Off the top of my head, I can not tell you the exact number/type of fluorescent bulbs that can be used with this PES 2 ballast. Read what it says on the ballast in the AMAZON listing/description. I don't know if these can be used with LED's. Voltage may be TOO HIGH for LED's. LED's don't need a lot of voltage. Regarding your question of whether these PES 2 Lamp Ballasts are "RAPID START" or " INSTANT START", all I can tell you is the PES 2 ballast turns on & on very FASSSSSSSSSSSSST.
