This is a perfect tool for complete novice/ beginner. I feel like I’m back in 2nd grade learning to write my ABC’s, when my beloved Grandmother, with her patience and love helped me! Wish she was with me now. Her beautiful manuscript was comparable to calligraphy.

I am just trying out a new hobby and saw this book was one of the highest rated on Amazon for beginner calligraphy writers. I totally understand why it is highly rated!It is so easy to follow as it eases through the different styles and techniques for calligraphy! It gives a lot of useful tips, like making sure your forearm is on the table the whole time (it's all about the movement of the wrist) I would have thought the opposite if I'm being honest, lol! It is so easy to read, the author did a phenomenal job in creating this one of a kind book that makes you feel OK to start a new hobby! She never makes you feel dumb or makes things too hard too fast. I am so impressed. I LOVE THIS BOOK!Also, as a bonus- if you email the company, they send you a few extras via email. They are just a couple of printables, but still better than nothing and MORE PRACTICE!Five Stars all the way :)

Like the step by step name of tools. Make them easy to use and improve waliry if writing.

I gave this book to my sister and she loved it, especially because it has space to practice.

Beautiful book. Practice pages are great. Full of good advice. I recommend purchasing some of the suggested supplies. Tracing paper and Tombow brush pens.

I can't say anything negative about this book. It's absolutely amazing. I'm not really a beginner and not really advanced either, I was just looking to brush up my skills and learn some new fonts and techniques and this book has it. I love how it comes and spiral so it's super easy to use on the go anytime. It's also really easy to use with tracing paper which is great. I will be recommending this to anyone interested in hand lettering or brush lettering.

As a beginner coming into lettering knowing NOTHING about the skill, I was surprised with how quickly I was able to begin and pick up the letter formations. I love how the detailed guides walk you through what to do and expect. They reassure you that mistakes are expected and with practice and consistency, lettering will improve. I have really enjoyed the process of working through the book. I would highly recommend picking up a pack of practice paper (I found some at hobby lobby) if you are a perfectionist like me. I like to practice each letter until I can make it consistent each time and you may run out of practice space in the book.
