I will buy again in the future
My son has been swimming for awhile, but just switched to this type of swim trunk because he needs them to wear under a wetsuit. He wasn't sure about them when he first tried them on because he was so used to the standard baggy style. After swimming in them the first time, he was a convert. He made the comment that "they don't ever seem to be wet". From toweling off beside the pool to 5 minutes later in the locker room, they were almost completely dry. He said he was surprised at how dry they were compared to how his baggy ones are always soaking when he was putting them into his swim bag. These are now his go-to trunks for swim practice. I cannot yet speak to durability since we've only had them a short time, but so far they are just what we were looking for. Fit well under his wet suit. Drawstring is extra help to prevent accidental overexposure. Nice sturdy, opaque fabric. Arrived in a timely manner. I'll buy another pair for the season to alternate daily. I'll also look to buy these again when he grows into the next size. Speaking of size, I followed the other (very helpful) reviews and bought the 26 (he's an 8/10 in the waist in boys pants), which was a perfect fit with a little bit of room to grow, so they should last him for awhile. The manufacturers tag attached to the shorts shows the following size guide for boys/men, which seems to correlate well with standard boys' clothing sizing: Us Size TYR size Waist in inches 4/5 22 22 6/7 24 24 8/10 26 XXS 26 12/14 28 XS 28 16/18 30 S 30 - 32 M 32 - 34 L 34 - 36 XL 36 - 38 XXL 38 - 40 XXL 40

True to size, color hasn't faded after a month ** Update July 2019 **
** Update July 2019: My son has now worn these for 10 months, 3x a week, as well as at several competitions since my initial review in Oct. I haven't noticed any fading in the color, and the material is holding up well. No tears or rips in the seam despite regular use and weekly laundry. But most amazingly, the color is as solid and uniformly dark navy as it was the day we got it. The chlorine has had no effect on the color or durability of the material. They need to make swim caps out of this stuff. Those silicone caps are no match for 10 yr old boys. ** These are very well made and perfect for my son on the swim team. The material is thick and durable, and I haven't noticed any fading of the color over the past month despite constant exposure to chlorinated pool water (he swims 3x/week, 50 minutes a session). The TYR logo is embroidered onto the jammer so there's no peeling or cracking of a glued on logo. We ordered size 26 as his waist measured 26 inches, and the shorts were a good snug fit. There's definitely room to grow. I suspect that this will easily fit him until his waist is over 28 inches... giving him plenty of space to fill out. There was no mention of this on the listing, but the jammers come with drawstring ties for the waist.

Runs a bit small
A bit small for my son but overall good quality.

Perfect fit and held up the entire swim season!
I will be honest. I didn't even know what a swim jammer was until my son joined the swim team this summer. I had no clue what to order but someone recommended TYR so I ordered these. I ordered a size 24 for my small, skinny 10 year old. He wears a size 8 in clothes to give you an idea of how these fit. In talking with other parents, I was worried these would not make it through the season. He swam in these 4 days a week for 2 hours for almost 3 months and they still do not show any signs of wear. They don't even have any areas that the material is picked or pulled at all. I ordered these in navy and they are much darker navy than the picture. They are a true dark navy blue. They have a lining in the front of the but not the back. My son really didn't want fully lined because in regular swimsuits he finds that uncomfortable. They do have a drawstring waist band so they could be made smaller or bigger. I am extremely pleased with these! They have lasted and as long as they fit, he can wear them for swim this winter too! (Sorry the pictures aren't the best, I wasn't thinking about taking pictures of the jammers at the time, just my kid getting ready to swim.)

Not for frequent use
My son recently switched from trunks to jammers for competitive swim. He loves them and says how comfortable they are. They fit him nicely, he's 8 years old, average height and weighs just over 40 lbs and we bought him the 24. However after less than 3 months of use (he swims 3 to 5 days a week) they have developed runs going horizontally from the vertical seam across his bottom. We intentionally didn't buy the cheapest on the market thinking these would last a long time. I think they would work wonderfully if your child swims less often, but year round swimmers will probably wear them out quickly. Pros: Drawstring Fits well around lower legs Keeps color Comfortable (according to my son) Cons: Bottom area wore out in about 10 weeks

Great quality jammer that lasts
I’ve bought three pairs of these over he years for each of my three boys. They have survived four summers of almost daily use for swim team and are still going strong with very little visible wear and no fading. Also, the drawstring waist allows you to buy them on the big side without worrying about them slipping down. Very good quality and less expensive than other brands. Also, size chart was true to size for my kids - most recently bought a 26 for my 7 year old and it should last him at least another year or two.

Incorrect sizing
According to size chart a 26 is a Large. I received my order and it says XS and it is definitely not a Large as described on the size chart. Too small. Returning.
