Booster Strap for Ski Boot by SkiMetrix World Cup

Hi everyone, This is a great product to incorporate into your boot system. Just know, there are levels of strap tension. For example “World Cup” is synonymous with a very rigid strap for limited flex. This is what I purchased not knowing there were different levels, I just knew the name “booster” but not the level, example “World Cup”, “Expert” and “Intermediate”. Now I know - duh. All I know is that I purchased the “World Cup” but a great technician (Sam) at Surefoot in Park City, showed me how to relieve the tension of the strap by cutting an internal band. ATTENTION: don’t do this unless you know exactly what to do! Otherwise, you’ll ruin the strap. The theory of the strap is like a thick rubber band that creates more tension as it is expanded and less when relaxed but there is some amount of tension. Unlike the typical strap that comes on most boots that when you crunch or push your shins into the tongue of the boot, you engage pressure through the boot in to the skis. But the typical strap is on/off and once you disengage the shin from the boot tongue, there is no pressure. The booster strap changes that paradigm by increasing/decreasing the amount of pressure to the boot tongue in increments, not on/off. I hope this helps

Booster straps are great. Much better than the Velcro straps that come with my original lange boots. These don’t slip and ice doesn’t get in them.

I’ve been skiing for 30+ years and can’t believe it took me this long to find this thing. Spotted a couple of kids on our local mountains race team using them and thought I’d try. Figured it was another ski gear gimmick…nope. Immediate impact in how you can feel the ski and at least for me it helps give a feel for unweighting the ski coming out of a turn. Gives more comfort & confidence at speed on groomers and helps with rhythm in powder. I don’t think I’ve ever left a 5 star review but this gets it.

Put on my touring boots and they feel twice as solid now.

Booster straps are the very best power strap for ski boots. They are not just for world class racers, but for anyone wishing to get the most out of their boots and skiing experience.

I have used this power strap two full days with my fairly new racing boots. When using the strap, I feel that I have so much more control over my skis, on and off-piste. The item that I received was an open box item but it was in new-like condition. No problem there. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Great product! As an expert skier, I noticed that turn initiation was quicker. Overall ski experience was very responsive. Any shin shock was eliminated. Easy to install.
