Best cheap option there is
The media could not be loaded. Initially, I wanted to buy this product so that I could have a distinguished device for listening to music apart from my phone. I would find that I would not be able to stay on track with important tasks if I was overloaded with other apps on the same device. I looked around on eBay, AliExpress, Alibaba, and Amazon and thought I would try this item out. After using this item for a month or two, I believe I was correct in purchasing this item. The build quality is what is to be expected for the price. nothing has cracked so far but it is definitely breakable and not indestructible . It is a little bit larger than a smaller iPod however, it still fits in jeans and pant pockets without issue. This item requires a wired connection for the audio. So I would recommend getting some better quality earphones for best experience. And I tried using the item with a lower quality set of ear buds and I didn’t get a good playback of my songs. If this happens to just switch out the earpieces you were using because I don’t think it would be the device itself.Downloading songs onto the device is also incredibly easy. You just need a computer and some really basic computing experience. The manual goes over how to download songs in depth. As for the battery life, and I’ve listened for eight continuous hours before it dying out. If you have a battery pack for your phone, then it should work for this device as well. Given you half the cable on hand. The cable is also pretty standard so you shouldn’t have any issues finding it.Overall, this item is extremely practical and a good budget option.

Bad solder job on the 3.5mm jack
We got 2 of these for our kids in August. They were used for about a month before the kids misplaced them. Now June, while doing a deep clean of their room we found them.Today was the first day using in more than 6 months and one of the head phones wasn't working. The headphones worked on the other MP3 player so we determined the player was not working properly. There are 2 screws on the base of the player that give you access to the internals. Apon inspection the 3.5 mm port had disconnected from the main board. Their was barely any solder on the mounting points at all. I know it's well out of the warranty but it's sad to barely use out of something before it fails.A few other things of importance to note. These are cumbersome to learn how to use but the kids got familiar with them quickly. They don't have internal storage. You will need to purchase a micro SD card separately.

Great as long as you have experience downloading music
Got this for my sister when schools started using those pouches to limit phone usage in schools. Our only issue was learning how to convert her music to an mp3 format for download. Besides that it’s easy to use and, have a nostalgic look and feel to it. I would recommended also buying a back up set of headphones to go with it just in case.

Works well, but...
Update: don't let this thing get cold. The front glass literally popped out of the metal frame. So the good: works well enough once you understand the system and the material seems solid. The mid: the color in the pictures are definitely not how it actually looks. Bought the purple, it's kind of a lavender at best... maybe a periwinkle? The not so great: using in USB mode with my vehicle has me locked to about 20 songs out of the approx 400 on the device. Tried adding other songs recently in the same format as the ones it plays when in USB mode in case it was an encoding issue, but that doesn't seem to be the case. I don't see this in the manual. The bad: Adding playlists from your PC to the MP3 fails in weird ways. Like I got 2 to show up, but it loaded a total of 7 songs out of 20 for the playlist... but if you save to the built in playlists (which cannot be found when plugged in) you can get 50+ songs just fine. And before you ask, no, the playlist does not show up when plugged into the USB.For the price, it was a decent buy, especially since my phone wasn't being read at all by my car. Just keep those limitations in mind.

Waterproof?
This was a Christmas present given to me. 3 yrs and 2 trips thru the washer later, it finally stopped working! It's shortcomings are apparent from other reviews. The software is REALLY annoying at first, but over time, I've gotten used to it. The battery life is nothing to brag about, but it's not terrible for it's size. Something to note: a few people said the on/off switch stopped working, but if you hold down the center button, it'll turn on and off as well. This is the method I use most of the time, even though the switch still works. It also requires a micro sd card. The product description says nothing about it being waterproof, but it survived 2 trips through the washing machine, and I didn't soak it in rice either time! That is what really impresses me, and the reason I'm purchasing another one. NO other mp3 player I've had can survive that. The water damage probably caused it to break in the end though. The buttons stopped responding half the time, and when they do respond, it 'thinks' I pressed a different button. All in all, for 16 dollars, it's a good product.

SD slot is very cheap swallows up and jam your card - you lose both card and device functionality
Could not use it from day ONE as not only it gobbled up my SD card but it jammed in the badly made chip wedge - rendering both the brand new device and card unusable! Cheapest mechanism & manufacturing

Works OK (as in mediocre), battery life sucks
This is stated as having a 40 hr battery life when it is charged. Maybe my player is damaged or something but so far the max I have gotten is about 3 hours. It does not come with storage so you will need to buy that. The interface is a little bit klunky and there are no playlists so I have no idea how to control which song it is picking to play.If the battery actually lasted as long as it is supposed to, I think this would be an ok device to just load with songs and let play but with a 3 hour play time, I can't recommend this device because it will not play while it is charging.
