Easy to apply as soon as your painting is dry to the touch. Very nice gloss. Gets back the brilliance of the paint as when it is wet. It is very thin, so apply carefully to prevent runs. Drying flat is actually the best. Usually allow about 12 hours to dry before shipping. This pint will last a long time. I pour out a small amount in a vessel and then return the leftover to the bottle, using a funnel is best.

I am new to adding varnish to my paintings. I did two large collages and this was a great final top coat I did over a cross-hatch of gloss gel medium. At my first show using this many people commented on the final finish. This makes you work have a museum presentation. I will be doing varnishes many more times in the future - 5 stars.

I've been painting in oils for a while, however, this is the first time I've varnished my paintings. Reviewing articles and YouTube videos, Gamvar seems to be the standard among oil painters. So, I thought I would try it and Gamvar delivered as advertised. It was super easy to apply and perfectly dry overnight. I applied one coat with a soft brush which created a semi-gloss sheen, perfect for my paintings. Had I known varnishing would be this hassle-free I would have done it years ago.

I use on my oil paintings after just 1 week of final oil paint. Once the paint is dry to the touch, you can use this varnish. I apply with painting flat on ground sitting on spare cardboard. Apply with a soft brush. Beautiful result.

Excellent product. No visible brush strokes.

I like this varnish as it's easy to apply, no odor, easy to clean brushes and droes quickly.
