Great Toy...[...]
My son received GeoTrax Grand Central Station at 2.5 years and still loves it. He is now 4 and his little brother is 2 and both play with it. It is an excellent starter train - very easy to assemble (my 4 year old can do it himself) and very durable. It has simple controls. We have the Grand Central Station and also bought one other remote controlled train (Fire Truck Train) so both boys can have their own train to play together. We have found that the Grand Central Station is plenty of Geo Trax for our boys...but clearly you can add on, and on...if you want more. We go trhough a lot of batteries for Geo Trax, but its worth it. [...]

A Definite Hit, but Don't Forget the Batteries!
I bought this toy for my grandson's second birthday, which was 2 days ago. This was the last present he unwrapped at his party (the box was so big he laid on top of it to get the wrapping off...so cute!) and he was none too happy that we put it away to open after all his party guests had left. However, he played happily with his new toys for several hours until my son put this together for him...then they were ALL yesterday's news! He has played with NOTHING ELSE since this was put together for him. He puts his cars up and down the ramps, excitedly watches the train emerge from under the bridge and squeals with delight when it goes down the ramp. It didn't take him any time at all to figure out how to work the remote. The construction is heavy duty and will stand up to lots of little boy abuse! It is definitely the favorite of his new toys. I appreciate that he plays with the track even if he doesn't play with the train all the time. His toy cars have found a new speedway! It does take up a bit of room, and we've already "fixed" the track numerous times due to the rough and tumble play of a 2 year old, but it snaps right back in place with no problem at all. I know he will definitely be getting expansion sets for this for Christmas this year! One note: this takes six AAA batteries, so don't forget to pick them up too. (Yep, you guessed it...this Nana forgot to buy batteries!)

Disappointed
This toy is not as stable as I thought it would be. My grandson was constantly bumping it and it was coming apart. I wish I would have purchased something different.

Love this set!
We got this train set in September, and my son still plays with it everyday! He will sit there and watch the trains go round and round for hours! I love the fact he is so interested in something! The entire set is so durable and easy for him to use. Most toys need the parents help to assemble and play with. Not this one! He changes the tracks himself, sets up the trains, and watches them go! It's also really popular with the older children. There is just something so classic about a trian set. I'm glad someone finally updated it!

Fisher-Price Geotrax Rail and Road System
I find this item to be very appropriate for a 3 1/2 year old. It does present intellectual and manipulative challenges while still providing a good deal of fun in the mean time. It does move a little slow and would be nice if it had a speed selector switch to meet the needs of a developing user. I do approve of this toy and I see it being passed on to a present 9 month old which speaks well for durability. The automatic shut off is very appropriate.

My son loves the Grand Central Station!
I bought this for my 3 1/2 year old son for Christmas. In short, he loves this train! My mom had bought him some Geotrax trains in the past, but they were not radio controlled. That is the part my son really loves. He can now drive the train around with the included radio controller. This set, as all sets, is compatible with other Geotrax accessories. I added in the track he already had in order to make a larger track to run on. My only caveat is that you may want to make sure you get track with the center, notched rail if you want to add to this set. The radio controlled engine uses the center rail for traction. The track I have without the center rail still works, but if the train is exceptionally long or there is an incline the engine is trying to climb, it may not climb too well without the center rail track. I definitely give this train 5 stars as it is fun for all the kids (including me).

fun but defective engine
This is my Christmas 2008 gift for my 3-year old son. It is easy to handle, a 3 yr old can snap the tracks together. The only problem is the defective engine. He was able to play with the train set by pushing the engine manually on the train tracks. I called Fisher Price 12/26/08 and the company promptly told us it will send a replacement for the engine. I am sure my son will fully enjoy this when we get the replacement engine.

Geo Trax Grand Central Station
This toy was recommended to me by me sister as one of the best toys ever made. We agree! The train is great. The kids play with it all the time. It is durable, engaging and just plain fun.
