I have been on the hunt for a good can opener for years now after my Xyliss safety opener finally bit the dust. This is not a safety opener, but it's the best I've found so far (I had 6 (!!!) different can openers just a few months ago & tossed the others after finding this one!)It bites through the can easily & inches around the top without having to squeeze hard on the handles or go to the gym to lift weights in order to be able to turn the handle. It feels sturdy & well-made, and even with the numbness I have in both hands, I can now open cans with relative ease. The non-slip handles help a lot here, too. I wish I'd found & tried this can opener a LOT sooner!Btw, the other style of Swing-Away can opener with the longer crank handle is better for tall/XL cans, but it's harder to use with regular cans. This version works with both, though the longer handle on the other definitely makes it better for 28+++ oz. Cans.

I have tried many brands of hand held can openers and after a very short time they all bit the dust. When I came upon this Swing-a-way can opener, I had had a vague recollection of this being one of the first can openers I'd ever have owner and it didn't crap out within six months to a year. It just seemed to go on and on for at least 5 years. So that inspired me to purchase this can opener and I have not been disappointed. It is simple to use and rinse. I have not been disappointed. Great purchase and great price!

I replaced my old swing away can opener, as it had a different style of handle, and they would irritatingly slide off. The formed neoprene handles are the way to go! The only thing that would improve this can opener is if it had a magnet to get the lid off like my old one did. I'm still super happy though!

This is the third Swing-A-Way can opener I have owned. They get used quite a bit in my household, so the blades do eventually get dull. I figure 15 years of abuse is a pretty good run for a manual can-opener. I keep expecting them to get lighter weight over the years, but they remain a heavy-duty work horse. I look forward to using this one for 15 years!

I owned a Swing-A-Way Can Opener in the past. My ex-wife got it in our divorce. When I moved into my bachelor pad, I bought some crappy can opener at the supermarket, but it just wasn't the same. I missed my Swing-A-Way. Finally, on Prime Day, I saw that it was on sale and I thought I would treat myself. The new one is even better than the original. The color makes my smile every time I open a can of beans. The cushion grip even improves the user experience more. I did not even think you could make this product any better, but once again Swing-A-Way has raised the bar. This is truly the best darn can opener that money can buy. If you need a can opener that will make you smile when you are opening a sad bowl of condensed soup for dinner, look no further. Swing-A-Way has got you.

I have had several Swing-a-Way can openers through the years. When one finally bites the dust, I always replace it with this brand. Works great! Easily opens cans. Other brands I have used just don’t glide as easily.

This is the only can opener you should buy. Seriously, it works great and opens cans like they did in the old days. My mother and our family used this can opener in the 80s and through the 90s and when I moved out I took our old can opener with me. It always worked so well. it was this same brand. But one day I moved and didn’t take it with me and I regretted it ever since... so I bought a few really bad can openers. From the can opener failing to work from piercing metal shavings in my food, I threw out the bad can openers because I did not want to die. This can opener perhaps saved me from getting several pieces of metal in my throat and subsequently getting an infection that could choke me to death. This really is a good can opener and it does what many others cannot do: safely open cans!

I first purchased this can opener back in Nov 2020, then again in Jun 2023. I bought the second one, not to replace the first (which is still going strong), but as one of my gifts to my son for his new home. Worth every penny, this one is heavy duty, sturdy and reliable - it's a keeper!

Excellent product! This lasts for a long time as long as you wash it after each use and to prevent it from rusting make sure to let it completely dry out before placing it in the cabinet. We have one of this which we bought nearly 40 years ago and it is still working well just like a brand new one👌🏽

My old can opener died and I went through two grocery store bought replacements in three weeks that simply did not work at all even though they were all metal parts, etc. Finally happened upon one of these while staying in a vacation rental and it was so good I had to order one for my house. It's amazing and I'm going to buy a few more for when it finally wears out!!
