WORKS PERFECTLY FOR OUTDOOR STEPS
I really wasn't sure what I would be getting in the way of outdoor lighting, since there was no specified use for these lights being used outdoors. However, after seeing and feeling the light strip, it was easy to see that they are equipped to endure rain without issue. There is a silicone or clear rubbery substance covering the LED lights so they cannot get wet. Perfect for lighting up the outdoor stairs so no one gets hurt in the dark. I put the motion sensor against the house, under the eve, so it minimizes getting wet.I wasn't sure when looking at them if they could be cut to size or not. I went out on a limb and cut them in the same place I knew to cut from past flexible light strips I own. It was a success. It would be helpful if there were cut-line indicators on the back of the light strip like others have. The lights are a bit brighter than I had hoped. It still looks nice, but I was looking for a little warmer light as an accent to the stairs, not light-up everything. However, finding a light strip with a motion sensor in the light-temperature I want, that's waterproof, was a tall order. These work just fine.

Stopped working by the second night.
Don’t waste your money. I bought these because I found them being used in a Tik Tok video and loved the idea for our new home. They came in, installation was easy and self-explanatory. The adhesive works fine, and the motion sensor was ok at best. I noticed it worked fine the first night we had it but it kept coming on in the middle of the night even though nothing was there to possibly set it off - I guess our apartment is haunted or something. Apparently our “ghost with a bladder problem” caused the stupid thing to stop working by the second night. I got up to use the bathroom, they came on as expected, went out while I was in the bathroom, and they haven’t come on since. They are great in theory, but a total bust.EDIT: I exchanged the first one with another to see if maybe I just got a faulty one. The second product was set up and did the exact same thing of working great for one night and then completely dying by the second night of use. I’d give this product zero stars if I could, don’t waste your money.

Well, the do light up
I bought these to put in my walk-in closet. They are very easy to install. I’ve installed a lot of this kind of lights around the house and these were no different. Simply peal off the backing and stick to the wall. My walls are wood. Until now, that’s never been a problem. I like the feature that allows me to change the timing of these lights. I prefer to have them stay on for about 30 seconds to a minute after the last detection. This one lets me go all the way to five minutes. It’s difficult without a magnifying glass to the read the ‘meter’—which is a tiny screw head (that requires a small flat-head screwdriver to turn) and a few marks around the outside of the screw. But it’s not something you do multiple times or on a regular basis, so it works fine. I wasn’t entirely pleased with the brightness, but I attributed that to the fact I’d only done about half the closet. Another strip should help. The problems began with the motion sensor battery pack. It was the first thing to fall off the wall pulling about a foot of the lights with it. Not a problem. I have some really strong glue strips. I just replaced the one that came with it with a couple of those. Unfortunately, the battery box is difficult to open to replace batteries and now that's it firmly attached I fear it'll be even more difficult to open.A few hours later that same day, the motion detector was still where I’d put it, but now about three feet of the lights next to it were hanging in a big loop. Got out the step ladder and reattached. The next morning I got up and, again, the lights were drooping. The motion detector battery box was in place, but I was in the middle of the closet before it detected me and lit the lights. When they came on, I could see they had also lost a lot of their brightness. From lights that were already a bit dim, this is not a good thing. Now, it’s so dim in there I CAN see where I’m going, can MOSTLY see the colors of shirts hanging up, but I CAN’T distinguish the colors of the rolled up socks or underwear in the drawer organizers. If the lights had been up for a while, I would attribute this to low batteries, but these batteries are brand new and have only been in there a day...and I didn't wander around in the closet keeping those lights lit all day! They have been on, perhaps, ten minutes since installation. If they suck down 4 AAA batteries that fast, then that’s a problem all its own.Needless to say, I feel I wasted my money and will be looking for a replacement that actually lights up the closet and stays where I put it.Follow-up: After using some heavy duty double-sided tape to make sure the lights stayed up and adding a Command Strip ‘velcro’ pad to the battery pack so I could remove and replace it easily during battery changes, the lights are in place and working. They seriously chew through batteries, though. I have to change batteries at LEAST once a week. For lights that are only on a couple of minutes a day that seems to indicate a pretty big power leakage. I have battery operated lights all over the house. Some are on 6-8 HOURS a day yet don’t require changing anymore often than that.I still can’t really recommend them.

Bright light!
I bought this for my shower enclosure because my shower sits perpendicular to my vanity light and always feels very dark. I really like that these are motion activated and was pleasantly surprised by how bright they are. Initially I tried using them with rechargeable batteries but they burned through a charge to quick, so I bought a micro usb cord and just leave it plugged in now which is fine. My only complaint is the instructions/timer are a little confusing but after some trial and error I found a good setting.

Perfect for Stair Lighting
We have two solid black cats who love lurking on our stairs. Especially at night, this can become quite dangerous. I finally bought this light strip to put along the stairs so that we can always see them. This is PERFECT.The light triggers right when we get to the top or bottom of the stairs, which is just what we need. It clearly shows all the steps. Then, a short while after we leave the stairs, the lights turn off again.I laid the strip down "upside down" so the light is shining against the wall. It gives a more muted glow which still is more than plenty to illuminate the stairs. It looks really pretty.Well recommended.
