uxcell 6 Pins Way Waterproof 1.8mm Wire Connector Socket Car Sealed Electrical

These connectors helped me clean up and make more durable a wiring project on my motorcycle. While I didn't strictly need weatherproof connectors, these were some of the only quick-disconnect, multi-pin connectors I could find, in a compact and robust design. You'll want a good crimping tool for the wire terminals. I used a Molex 63811-1000 Service Grade Hand Crimping Tool. It made the wire crimps almost impossible to mess up. You might also want a proper Weatherpack crimping tool, to crimp the terminals to the yellow weather seals. Absent a Weatherpack tool, any crimper for insulated terminals can do an acceptable job (many generic wire strippers have this built in). A terminal pusher tool is another helpful extra, in case you make a mistake or need to rewire. Once you have the terminals and weather seals crimped to your wire ends, they slide in and lock to the connector blocks very easily. Then you snap the white plastic M-shaped thing in the back of the connector, to separate and support the wires. Be aware that these kits come with absolutely no instructions. However, the procedure isn't hard to figure out. If you know how to crimp and have worked with automotive connectors before, particularly Delphi Weatherpack, it will all be pretty self-explanatory. I can't speak to the actual weatherproof-ness of these connectors, but they should keep out dust at the very least. It's hard to make out in the photo, but there's an orange rubber ring inside the "male" side of the connector, as well as the yellow rubber donuts. Once you have everything snapped together, you could probably spray water directly on one of these & not get any connections wet. update: In case you need extra terminals, TE Connectivity part number 171661-1 should work for the male terminals; TE Connectivity 171662-4 for the female terminals.

The uxcell 6 Pin Way Waterproof 1.8mm Wire Connector turned out to be an exact mate to my Kioti's external rear wiring harness. I successfully used this connector to attach a 5-to-4 pin trailer light converter, to power trailer lights. If you're in the same situation, the pinouts are, from the wire end of the female shell with the latch/catch side facing up: Top, left to right: Ground, Tail, Stop. Bottom, left to right: Left turn, Unused, Right turn. Instructions for how to assemble the connector would have been helpful (the pins are asymmetrical as are the gaskets for the wires. Put the gaskets on the wires first. If the pin does not seat, turn it 180 degrees). If as in this case there's no connection to a pin position, you'll still need to install the yellow wire gasket in the unused hole and plug the hole through the gasket with something solid.

If you need a heavy gauge wire connector that slides together easily this is the one. Easily crimped in 14 Ga. wire and even tho it is a "water proof" connector it slides together easy and locks firmly, and just as important it unlocks and slides apart easily too. Important to me as it's location only allow one hand access to accomplish these tasks!

The wire pins would not lock into the plastic housing after being crimped.

Nice quality especially for auto applications. It was not quite as good as the OEM connector it replaced but close as you’ll find. It’s water resistance looks credible.
