HJC 980-614 is-MAX II Modular Motorcycle Helmet (Matte Black, Large)

Doesnt breathe as much as I thought, seems to fog up a bit more than my older one, but still a great helmet - good fit, although i admit to trying the HD version on in the store to get the right size first. one handed opening / closing of the face guard. visors click right in place. simply to swap. The indents for the speakers are circular so the Sena speakers had a little 'nub' where the wire connects so it doesnt fit flush. Little knife action should fix that. other than that, its a great helmet. 100% satisfied.Update on CS From HJC!!I ended up accidentally letting this sit against my headers for a few seconds while it was in the bag. Ended up melting some of the rubber trim... BUT I spoke with CS for HJC and after a couple weeks they helped me replace my chin guard!! EXCELLENT CS! if they werent my favorite already they would be now!!

I'm an HJC fan and have had quite a few over the years. I love the modular design and it is not too heavy. It's likely that this helmet (and other HJC helmets) have more air noise than higher end products, but the noise level isn't distracting to me. I haven't tested its protective capabilities (knock on wood), but I did have an accident in a different HJC and it took care of my melon. This one seems to run slightly larger than my other helmets from the same company, but it still is in the range of acceptable fit for me.

Its not as quiet as I expected and the lens is a little hard to flip up. But its comfortable, appears to be good quality as was my last HJC that lasted 10 years. The modular is so nice to be able to drink while riding and as most new helmets there is plenty of room for headsets/bluetooth. I have no doubt itll be good to me for a few years at least. There is quite a draft up under the chin as well that I would prefer to do without, but a neck gaiter solves that issue.

I was impressed with the quality and comfort of this helmet. Sizing estimate was accurate. Very little wind noise at speeds in excess of 50mph. Integrated sunshield is a nice feature. Blue tooth friendly. Plenty of room for headset ear pieces. I also bought the HJC IS-Max 2 Chin-Curtain Motorcycle Helmet Accessories - M/C/One Size for $8.49. It easily snaps to the chin bar and does a nice job in cold weather.

I've only ever owned two helmets, so I don't have much to go by but this helmet is awesome. I love it. I will never go back to a non-modular helmet. When I'm sitting at a stop light, I just flip up the chin guard for some breeze. Also, the built in shade is awesome. Sometimes I wear sunglasses and still flip the shades down on those extra bright days.I have somewhat of a roundish head and this helmet fits me perfectly. It doesn't squeeze my cheeks in too much. The only thing I wish this helmet had was a chin curtain, as I'm sure when it gets colder I will need to buy one or wear a scarf or something. Still not a big enough deal to go down a star.

Turned out to be a great fitting helmet. I was a bit concerned buying this online without first trying it for fit, but the fit is great. A solid hinge at the modular jaw portion, low wind noise, great venting, and the flip-down inner dark lense makes this helmet a great purchase. Good room for adhearing my bluetooth speaker. I really like the look of the matt black, better than gloss black

Great helmet, had it for 8mos. The only problem is the seam on the liner. I am bald so the seam digs into my head and causes a very sore spot on my forehead after about 30min of riding. I wear a do rag to help, but that is just one more thing to deal with. Other than that, nice helmet.

This is my second modular full face helmet. I payed 125.00 for my first one a couple of years ago and it did well but once I started using it I found out some issues with it and decided to get something different. The HJC is just what I was looking for. The face shield hinges are solid when lifting and the fit is fantastic. I wear glasses which is why I like the modular style. It is also quieter than my first helmet and airflow is good.
