Very Nice but Amazon Description is wrong
I love the look of this HRM. At least to me, the look is the nicest of the HRMs out on the market and I wear it as an everyday watch. I love the big display and the ability to make the heart rate or time the biggest numbers on the display. My wife thinks the chest band is more flexible and more comfortable than her Polar. I'm a big guy with big wrists which is a problem with some watches, but not this one.The only problem I have with it is that it doesn't have a downloadable memory which contradicts the Amazon description. If you go to the manufacturer's web site, they don't claim that it has a downloadable memory. If it wasn't for this glitch, I would have given it 5 stars. It does remember the details of the last 3 workouts (date, time, total time, time in zone, peak hr, max hr, avg heart rate, min heart rate, calories, etc).I also like that it lets you set the maximum heart rate. Just about everywhere you look, the 220-(your age) method has been discredited although Polar still uses it.

Timex target trainer with HRM
After some fairly lengthy research and deliberation, I decided upon this HRM among various brands and options available.Pros for the TAP target trainer-- Large display with easy to read digits. Heart rate can be displayed as largest numbers in the middle or at the top above the time or chrono. Quickly links up to the heart rate upon turning it on. easy to push buttons.Cons: The heart rate strap tends to rub a raw spot on me near its lower right corner. Not sure if this is specific to this strap and monitor, as it's my first ever hrm. Only once has the tap function spontaneously advanced. (I have it on the medium setting). Manual is not terribly helpful, but I usually lose patience if a manual is too long.Overall, I'm very pleased with this watch/monitor. Being familiar with other timex ironman watches did make it easier to set. I do use ultrasound/contact gel on the back of the strap for a more consistent connection to my skin. I run approx 30m/wk with this monitor.

Good budget HRM option
The watch looks great new out of the box and appears to be solidly build. The operation is a little convoluted, takes a little bit to get used- this is my first ironman- but nothing compared to the weird interface from CasioG! Unfortunately the screen is also nowhere as resistant as the G- after few weeks of light wearing, mainly during the days I run (otherwise I wear a different watch) I managed to get few handsome scratches on the screen. Part of it is probably because the screen has touch capabilities - find it useless, the mechanical pushbuttons are easier to use anyways. The HRM part is generally accurate but probably dependent on using conductive gel or being sweaty. Found few blatant differences from the pulse I measured myself but generally it was accurate.Would love to see an ironman built like a G with even better HRM implementation or alternatively a Casio G with HRM!

Expensive "cheap" monitor.
Bought it 18 months ago specifically for the heart rate monitor and it simply stopped working from one day to the next. Everything else works but the HRM. Extremely upsetting as my cheap not so accurate Wal-Mart HRM is still going for 4 years now taking a LOT of brutal punishment. This super expensive timex that has been baby'd since day one just quit on me and there is absolutely nothing you can do but reset it which did not fix the problem. I thought maybe I could at least sync the strap to some app but of course not. Now I'm stuck with a very expensive piece of trash and extremely frustrated. No more timex, ever! With the smartphone era I'd probably Invest on a srrap you can sync with your phone since it's one less thing to carry and your phone goes where you go anyway. If you value your hard earned money, think twice before burning it on this. 18 months for this kind of money is not worth it in my opinion. Plus it seems like I was lucky because some people in here had their watch quit on them in much less time.

Works great
Big Display, love that. Not too fond of the grey color against my winter skin. It looks a sight better against my summer skin.Touch display is very hand, although a bit touchy while lifting weights and doing calisthenics n such. Works perfect if youre just doing cardio.I use it mainly for cycling......until i got my garmin edge unit.Cant rate it on durability just yet because i rarely use it anymore. But, if it'sd like every other Timex watch I have owned in the past 10-15 years, it'll undoubtedly tear apart on me pretty quickly. I got it at a great price or I wouldnt have bought it because of that fact.

Works great
I have been very happy using this watch for my runs. There are only two downsides: If you wear the watch on your left hand, the middle -right side button, which is the "start/lap" button, is very sensitive and sometimes gets clicked by accident when I bend my wrist back (i.e. tying shoes, adjusting clothes, etc). The second... it records 100 laps, but only allows those to be stored in 3 workouts. It automatically deletes a workout when you start a new or 4th workout.Everything else works great. It has a big screen, but doesn't feel too bulky. And.. Timex watches tend to last a long time.

Timex Ironman heart rate monitor watch
I bought this while deployed and still got this rather quickly (yay amazon). It has served me well with only one small problem, the length of the chest strap. I'm not a giant (or obese) man, but the heart rate strap fits way more snug than I would like. At times I feel like I can't take a deep breath because of the restriction it causes. If the strap could be extended a little longer, then I would have given this 5 stars.

I like this watch/monitor but I had to send it back ...
I like this watch/monitor but I had to send it back on two seperate occasions because of water damage. The watch claims to be waterproof, I assume if someone were running an Ironman they might need to get in the water! After two returns, I finally got the watch back as a replacement. didn't get my original grey color because they didnt have any in stock.Needless to say, i wont be diving in teh pool again with this on.

Also bestellt.
