As others have said the latch doesn't work to open a lid. I'm trying to figure out if it can be adjusted so that the latch actually works to open the lid. I'm sure it can be but I just haven't done it yet. Other than that it feels like a durable trash can. Holds more than I thought it would. The 13 gallon trash bags do fit kind of tight around the rim but I actually like that so they don't slide down into the trash can. Just be careful if you're going to use the 13 gallon size trash bags because when you put them around the rim you can easily rip your trash bag if you don't buy quality trash bags.

This is a simple and compact trash bin, good size for a small kitchen or small family. It is sleek and clean-lined, not like a hamper or industrial looking one, but there are no LinerLock bag wires inside. A regular 13 gallon trash bag fits snuggly on the rim, although it does require some stretching and pulling. The trash bin came with some smudges. Need to be cleaned right out of the box. Some imperfections on the rim are sharp, but can be easily taken care of with a craft knife. The push button works just fine. No spring jumps out yet.A couple of differences between this one and the Spring Top 14.9 x 17.2 x 25.5 inches model is that this one does not have lock lid feature. The lid just sits loosely on top of the bin. Also, when the lid is in open position 1/4 of the opening is blocked and the lid sits 1 inch below the opening thus a higher chance to get trash caught on the lid by accident. Whereas the Spring Top model can open 100% without the lid blocking the opening, which is a nice feature.We bought this trash bin based on only one photo on its listing. Hope this helps!Update 3-23-2021: It's hard to believe buying a working trash bin could be so difficult. After being a bit disappointed by the Rectangle Spring Top, we bought the Spring Top. Turns out not only the new trash can arrived even dirtier than the Rectangle Spring Top, it wobbles like a tumbler toy. The all around smudges look like it's been used and returned. The finish of the plastic also look dull and cheap. We decided to stick with the Rectangle Spring Top. At least it is stable and looks a lot nicer. Hope we can return this second one with no problem. Will update about it.

I had a 10 gallon trash can before ordering this one and I’m so glad I purchased this new one! The size is great for the kitchen, and the trash bag really stays in place with the securing arms of the can. I’m not a big fan of trash cans with the pedal-open, so I prefer this latch feature better. I will say though, I wish they didn’t put such a hard to peel sticker on the side of the trash can. The sticker ripped when I tried to remove it and the leftover paper & residue was very difficult to remove.

One of the best kitchen household garbage cans out there! Period! I previously bought this same kitchen trash can 13 years ago, but had to leave it with the house I sold. I found it again on Amazon, and the rest is history! It is very, very, very hard to find this trash can anywhere online or in a store. I don't think they make it anymore. You can only get it if you order by special order, which is what Amazon did, and it took 2 months to get it! It was a lot of glitches in the delivery from the distributor, which wasn't Amazon's fault. Amazon stuck with it and finally got it to me brand new!

I needed this garbage can so bad and I wanted to like it. But the spring lock pops up even if I am not touching it. Feels flimsy! There was no LinerLock Bag Wires included on my garbage can. That would be nice because the garbage bags barely fit around the rim. I don't think I will have this can for long and next time I will not order a spring top because it is not going to last.UPDATE: I am trying to use this can but it opens whenever it feels like it. The top is why I will be replacing it but not buying one from Amazon. Some place I can pick it out in person. Another note is that the can I was sent was not Rubbermaid. It was Sterilite.

The lid on this product really does NOT fit well. Every time you bump the can the lid falls off. I was looking for a trash can that had a locking lid. I previously had bought a liner lock trash can. If it had not broken I would not be stuck with this one. Can’t return it because I don’t have any other one to replace it.

I like this but it is hard to get open sometimes. Maybe something with how i am doing it. I wanted something that things couldn't fall into and this works well!
