The only Powerline Adapter that's worked flawlessly
Over the past 3 years I have purchased 3 different Powerline adapters and had zero success. I have a large house and my FIOS router is on the 2nd floor right next to the exterior wall on the right side of my house. I have a wireless dead zone on the first floor, left side of the house. I've tried DD-WRT bridges/access points but the signal quality is just too poor to rely on.Other Powerline adapters I've purchased required connections to a computer, installed software, synchronized button pushing, etc - yet couldn't get a connection going at all. When I looked at the instructions (plug into outlet, connect to router...) I was pretty skeptical. However unpacking the box was the longest part of setting up this powerline network. Signal strength was flawless - exactly as fast as if I was plugged directly into the primary router. The fact that these also have an outlet built in saved me as well. The room where my FIOS router is located only has 2 outlets & one is too far away from the router to use. The outlet next to the router has a powerstrip plugged into both sockets. So I was able to plug this powerline adapter directly into the outlet, then plugged the power strip into the powerline.Aside from how flawlessly the product worked, their customer service was very fast, helpful & knowledgable. I asked them for some suggestions on routers that might provide a stronger signal. The router I was asking them about was ~$175. Instead, they recommended I get the powerline adapter, even though that was ~$90.Before buying this I was getting ready to either buy spools of cat-5 and dedicate a weekend or 3 to running lines. This saved me $500 in swear jar money plus my weekends.

Do your research on your home or office
I really had hopes that this device would solve a major problem for me in getting my wireless reception better on the second floor of my home. I was disappointed when the reception bars rarely reached level 5 and mostly stayed at none or 1 and 2. Signal strength fluctuated wildly and, frequently, I was bumped off line altogether. I may have hoped for better performance unrealistically because the special problem I have is a foil vapor barrier between floor 1 and floor two. My Comcast (also have had ATT U-Verse) router is located on floor 1. Neither routers have been able to penetrate the foil effectively. Fortunately, I did have a Ethernet cable located upstairs which I eventually plugged the Amped Wireless High Power Wireless N 600W Dual Band Access Point into and have gotten better results. Occasionally, the signal strength fluctuates even with a direct plug in but at least I can run 2 laptops and a tablet with the Access Point. It is probably unfair to rate the Powerline performance in my case, but I sure did hope it would solve this problem and it couldn't. So you may want to do some research before investing in the Powerline if you have barriers of any kind between floors and your router is one floor 1. I do not know if it works better with just wood flooring, concrete flooring, etc.The Powerline was easy to set up and get running.

Poor performance if the two adapters are on separate circuits
As long as the two adapters are on the same circuit (usually in the same or adjacent rooms), the throughput is OK. But when they are on separate circuits, the throughput drops to 5 mbps, even worse than Wi-Fi in my case. My house is single family and by no means old.At 5 mbps, the adapters still shows a healthy green signal strength. I am not sure what the throughput would be when the signal strength indicator shows amber. This is by no means an improvement over Wi-Fi for me. I am planning to upgrade my Wi-Fi AP with three streams and high gain antennas instead.

plug and play, it works but slow
2 start is only for the easy setup (plug and play) like other brand but It is way slower than other brands. I use it in my bedroom when my main router is in living room, its about 50 ft away and my download speed is only 1M, test it on [...] (I got 30M Charter). Another brand Zyxel I brought for another bedroom was dead after 1 month, so I have to purchase another brand again and lucky I got a great deal on Newegg, the brand is Tenda, 200M only but my download speed is around 10M-15M now.

Oops, No Wireless Access Point
Just a word of warning, 'Wireless' is part of the company name, not part of the AV800 product. So I'm having to purchase a wire.ess access point/router to get all that I want out of this.

Nano AV500 Works For me
This solved my problem. I was getting poor signal for listening to my XM radio through my receiver. Started with a wifi through the usb port lost the signal every half hour or so. With the Nano its almost as good as running an ethernet cable

Works As Advertised
I am in a situation where sharing wifi only with 4 roommates was not cutting my bandwidth needs. After plugging into the outlets as advertised everything is running smoothing and no one has any lagging issues. I've even plugged into a hub to access everything wired in a single room ( 4 devices ). Runs near perfect. Would recommend to everyone.

Great Solution for wireless signal problems
Worked perfectly. Took no time to set up. Just plug it in and it works! Perfect for laptops on 2nd floor of house with weak wireless signal. I had tried a Netgear range extender prior to this which did not work at all. Extremely happy with this product, in fact I bought another set of 2.
