Sigma 18-250mm f3.5-6.3 DC Macro OS HSM Lens for Nikon DSLR Cameras w/Advanced Photo and Travel Bundle

After researching for a few days regarding what type of lens to purchase as I am still a novice compared to most, finally clicking the purchase button with much anxiety was the best thing I did! This sigma lens is wonderful! I had the stock 55 that came with my Nikon and had NO idea which to purchase next. All I knew is I wanted more zoom and focus options. It's easy to learn to use, and my first real test of the lens was during our trip to Mexico and visiting the ruins of Ek Balam. It worked absolutely fantastic and the pictures are excellent. Mucho praise lol. The extras that come with this package are great as well. I haven't had the chance to test the filters yet, but the bag and cleaning kit along with the remote are basic but decent quality, I am happy with them for now. I would definitely recommend this lens and travel package!

I have used this lens during my recent trip to Iceland. It fitted perfectly on my Nikon D3300. I loved the fact did not have to change my lenses and was able to take pictures near and far with one single lensPros:1. The lens produces good images during the day light.2. Zooms out well enough and captures both close ups as well as far off images with good quality.Cons:1. The lens needs to be locked so that it does not keep coming out all the time. It would have been good if it could have stayed in one place to save the hassle of locking and unlocking it all the time when taking images.2. I was not that happy with the low light performance of the lens. The images came out little dark even though I made all the necessary adjustments.The package comes with lots of extras, but the one item which was useful was the lens cover holder. I did not have to go through the hassle of removing and keep the lens cover safely any more. The lens cover was hanging on well to the holder. Also useful was the lens cleaning cloth as I had to wipe out water from the lens several times while shooting near waterfalls.

This was intended to replace my 18-55 and 55-300 Nikon kit lenses (VR models). Unfortunately, the image quality was not on par with those lenses, so I returned this package. The Sigma performed well at the lower zoom ranges, but when I did side-by-side comparisons in the mid- and high-range, there was no comparison. The Sigma images' colors were washed and were not as sharp as the Nikon's, especially in the middle lengths (like 135mm). I'm an amateur with a low level of experience; so if I can notice it, there's definitely a problem.On the other hand, this is a very handy lens. Its utility at my kids' baseball games was great since it could be used for wide angle as well as zoom shots. It's very well built, solid in hand, and the lockable lens feature is nice. Also, the package deal was nice with some great supplies and filters (I ended up ordering the filter set separately after I returned this kit). Goja is pretty great to work with.I researched this lens for a long time and compared it to the Tamron, with the Sigma typically winning those comparisons. I wanted it to work, but it fell short.

I have only had the lens for a few weeks but I have been very impressed with it. Most of the pics so far have been of my kids sports. The lens took great pictures. The value for what you pay and what you get is definitely worth it. This particular lens was recommended to me from a gentleman in a camera store. I paid the same as what he could get it for me, but this came with the bag and all the other extra stuff. The bag seems to be pretty good quality, its not very big but it will carry the camera, couple lenses and a few other items. It was nice taking to the basketball game and not having to haul in the big camera bag, but still have what I needed with me.

Lens seemed defective, wouldn't lock on focus, pictures blurry even on tripod. Wish it had turned out better.

This is a wonderful lens. It is not only a light but it has great range and it focuses at least as quickly as any autofocus lens I have ever seen. The four star rating is based only upon what I feel is a slightly high price. Nonetheless, there is nothing equivalent to it in the price range that it sells for. Your money will be well spent should you decide to buy this lens.

Excellent package... O loved the bag pack... Really useful... I recommend the lenses, just be careful with the filters. I had an issue with the CLP but Goja sent me a replacement immediately no questions asked. Great service...Thanks Goja

This is a good lens for my Nikon D7100. Works right out of the box and fits the mount snug. It does have the opposite action for extending-retracting the lens from my Nikon 18-140 lens, but using it will train my muscles to the proper technique. I like the extra range that the telephoto has and the macro is very useful for flower close ups(good bokeh and sharp focus on the flower). It does have lens creep and will end up at the telephoto end quickly unless you lock it . The accessories will be quite usable and did not cost anymore than the lens alone. Can't wait to take it out and put it through a hard workout.
