Tuffy3-Digit Combo Camlock (Model 082) – Heavy-Duty Alloy Security Lock for Safes, Lockboxes & Tool Vaults | No-Key Combination Access

Bought this for the under seat lock box for my jeep TJ. This should come as an option pre-installed on the boxes so you don't have to purchase multiple items to get to work for the situation.

Worked great to replace the Tuffy Console safe in my JL. No issues with fit. Installation was easy, but a little tedious as you don't have a ton of room to work the cylinder nut loose/tight - It was doable. Think about which way you want to have the dial face you when you are in LOCKED position.

Bought this to replace the key lock on a Tuffy vehicle console safe. Direct replacement and works great if you don’t want to carry around and extra key. Well made and easy to manipulate. Would definitely recommend!

I bought this to swap out the key lock that came on my Tuffy console safe and I figured if I bought the same brand, it would be an easy swap. It was not as easy as I expected. I’m pretty handy, but the terrible directions and cheap quality components almost got this returned. As others have said the numbers are ridiculously small. I hope I don’t need to get into my safe in an emergency (I mainly use it for storage while out of my truck) as I don’t think I could read them if it’s not super bright out. The nut that holds this in place takes a 19mm socket and it is super cheaper materials that is easily rounded off with an adjustable wrench. I eventually got the cheap one off and used the brass one that came on my safe with the key lock. It will work until I find one that has larger numbers. And I wish it was a combination with a key backup just to be safe, maybe I’ll find that.

Easy install nice add on for the console box

If you have your key on your truck key ring you have to take it out of the ignition or turn off the ring to unlock. That or hide it where a thief can’t find it.Works great and combo can be set to what you want.

I initially could not set the lock. The instructions states the lock is factory set to 000 (zero, zero, zero) and you should set the lock to 000 to set up your 3 digit code while pushing the set pin. Problem is my lock was not set to 000 by the factory. In order to set it I had to pick the lock (I won't say how) which turned out to have been set to 809 (just saying). Anyway once I picked learned the previous set code (809) I was able to set it to my desired 3 digit code of my choice.Installation was simple and I actually reused the little finger handle (see attached picture) from my Tuffy safe under the lock knob making it easier to open the safe.As for concerns related to security and feasibility of picking this lock any combination lock can be picked, some easier than others, but I was able to pick mine using a vise in a quiet and well lit garage. It would not be as easy to pick it while installed on the safe, in the center console of my truck. Not to mention while in the wide open. That's not to say it's impossible.Just to note the safe I installed this lock on is the Tuffy 323-01 Insert for 2014-Current Toyota Tundra also purchased from Amazon.Overall this is great addition for this safe, I only wish there was an option to chose between a keyed or combination safe from the start.3 star rating is because I had to go through the trouble of determining the original code to set to my desired code. Maybe it was returned and sent to me accidentally? And, the fact that I was able to pick the lock as easily as I did.Hope this review helps and really hope the attached picture helps others in their future installations. I've seen a few other reviews here in concerning the difficulty in opening the safe by the combination handle alone. I could see that being quite difficult. Make use of the little finger handle if you have it.

It fit great. It's solid. I have two boxes in my jeep. I will be buying another one. It fixed the issue I was having. My tuffy center console was supposed to have the same key as my saddle bags. But didn't. I didn't want to more big keys on my key chain so I had the other key in my console. I'd have to get that one out first then open the other boxes. This solved that problem.
