STAINED not Lacquered and Highly Toxic, Health Hazard
Massive fail.Zero stars i would give if i could,Absolutely looks nothing like the picture. The item is NOT lacquered but STAINED.It is not shiny and even in color as the photo shows here,But a very uneven ,matte walnut, reddish ,murky brown. After reluctantly opening the packaging , some dry flecks of dark brown stain or something came off on my hand..Not on your life would i use this on my bar or even in my tool shed.It is extremely unsanitary and a toxic health hazard."Lacquered " ..this item was not lacquered at all. This is a lie and this seller should be taken off of amazon.

I wouldn't buy this
The surface isn't smooth, the lacquer finish is spotty, small holes on the muddler face. Save your money even if it's only 1.50. I'll try to sand this smooth to see if I can use it.

Would recommend to a handy man with tools!
Really struggling not to give this 4 stars, but something must be said. I purchased this for my home bar, I figured for the price it was too good to be true! Well that was sort of the case, if you have access to some decent grit sand paper it can "Almost" be solved. So, Like previously stated this is made of wood, coated in a lacquer. One that is clearly easily dissolved by high proof liquor (The ones you would be using to make drinks) so I figured I would sand the mashing (part that does the pressing). After sanding the main surfaces I realized a problem, that the head of the muddler has rivets/dimples which are impossible to sand unless you have some time and a file. Long story short, I put it through the washing machine, then put it in some hot water, and washed it again and it seemed to do the trick! The head of the muddler is a much lighter color, but does the job as good as any. The reason why it got three stars is when I buy my tools they should come in perfect working order.

Flimsy but gets the job done
It's a nice color and it's a nice shape...it's just so light. I mean, for a muddler, I definitely want some weight behind it or I feel like it'll crack with enough pressure. And this one, if you don't take care of it, I feel like the light density wood will dry out and you're going to have problems. But I guess, for the price, can't complain. I just needed it for my stint at making drinks over quarantine times. I only pick it up once a month now so it should last a while as long as I clean it properly!

Good product for the money
Good product for the price. My constructive criticism: don't put the SKU sticker on the end that is used to muddle. I've tried soap, olive oil, citrus juice, and various proofs of alcohol and cannot get the adhesive residue off. Put the sticker on the handle side, if at all, otherwise it will have to wear off over time into drinks that are being made with it.

High quality wood and shape
If you need a muddler, this is a great option. Has been in use for years now (literally) and it looks like new. Wears very well over time.

Well made, clean with some care
This is a good, sturdy little muddler that is very comfortable in the hand and works effectively in all sorts of drink-mixing. The one caveat is that the dark staining or coating doesn't hold up very well, particularly to any vigorous scrubbing. Even with care taken, over time the acids and friction of muddling wear away the coating, leaving the dull, lighter wood exposed. However, this doesn't detract from it usefullness (and hasn't made us ill!) Just be sure, as with other wooden implements, to avoid prolonged soaking-- including in the dishwasher-- and this will serve you well.

Meh. Get a real one instead.
It was $2. I figured I'd give it a crack. In hindsight, I should have just sprung the extra few bucks for something that wasn't lacquered. I sanded off the very bottom before I used it and it does the job, I suppose (I'm not much of a bartender... as evidenced by the fact that I thought a $2 muddler would be a good idea). But, putting lacquer on something that you're going to smash into something you're about to ingest isn't a great idea. If I had my time again, I'd buy a solid wood tapered rolling pin, saw it in half and have two muddlers. Or just buy a proper one.

Perfect!
Exactly what I ordered!Great for making Old Fashioned! It's not as large as some of the muddlers you'll see in Youtube videos so it's easy to travel with for those BYOB parties.

Arrived Scratched at the top
Was a Christmas Present and left it in the packaging until the gift was opened when I then noticed it was scratched. Very disappointed.. Looked as if it was dragged on a rough surface as the natural wood was exposed.
