Wolverine Men's Hawthorne Hunting Boot

There was one review that I read by a roofer who said the boots leaked on a snow-laden roof. I don't doubt that. He should have been wearing rubber wellingtons! These boots are light and the sole feels comfortable and "spongy." The hook eyes are a little difficult to manuver, but I am a big boy and will get used to them.I will direct one complaint at the description of this product by Amazon. These boots have a half-gusset....a gusset being material between the boot eyelet flaps and the tongue. I really prefer full gusset boots, and there was NOTHING in the Amazon description or on the Wolverine website that said these boots were half-gusseted. This is a bad oversight. I have worn half-gusseted boots before and survived, so I will get along. But, Amazon, you need to get your crap together on product descriptions.

From the title you may think this is a negative review but it is quite the contrary. I received these one week before I went upland game hunting in N. Dakota. My first concern was if they fit properly and they did. My second was breaking them in before I left on my trip so I started wearing them to work. I figured I'd get a blister on my heel as it seems I always do with a new pair of boots but it didn't happen. They a very comfortable, lace up easy, are light weight, and are very warm. While hunting we walk miles through many different terrains including a shallow river and the boots kept me comfortable the whole way. My feet never got wet, cold or blistered after miles of walking in adverse conditions.

Nice fit and solid construction for using as protection from the elements while working around my acreage. I find this style to be more than adequate to work in bogs and creeks all day or stomping around unfriendly thick forests. Light enough to not cause fatigue.

I bought these boots thinking they were the same style I had, which were comfortable and had plenty of cushion. Felt like i was wearing walking shoes. I never felt tired but these boots are lacking in cushion and hard on the soles. Yea, i can go buy some gel insoles or similar but why should i have to. After a days work, so glad to take they off. Will be looking to buy another pair very soon.. I advice to look further or go to nearest retailer and try they out first, buying online is tough going..

These boots are built very well! Have lived up to the wolverine name. They run slightly large though. About 1/2 a size.

Good outdoor work boots. A little big for the sizing though. When they are worn in and a little dirty, they look real tough.

This boot has been the best purchase of the season! With all the snow and cold weather these boots are my foot warmers.They are comfortable and well build.
