Kabbalah For Dummies

It covers it all
This the best book! It covers everything you need to know about Kabbalah in easy to understand explanations. While it’s thick, you can skip around to the sections that intrigue you or just plow through it (as I did). I took notes chapter by chapter. I feel as if I’ve been given a way to live my life as well as why. It’s very satisfying to me to have something that has G-d (or whatever you term you use to speak of the Creator) at it’s core; that’s the most important element for me. As a Jewish woman I think I’ve found a home which hasn’t existed for me since I was 13. Highly recommend. I will say that I haven’t practiced Judaism for many years so some of the text didn’t speak to me at this time of my life (like practicing Shabbos because I’ve never done it). I’m fine with that.

Book is incredibly enlightening for ALL truth-seekers!
This makes things in the Torah, Tanakh, and even the New Testament make more sense!!! It’s now looks more like my journal after reading four times. Highly recommended for those that want a closer walk with G-d. Receive better understanding of spiritual truths!

Great, realistic beginners book for a deep topic
Kurzweil wrote this excellent book as an introduction to Kabbalah for a large, general audience. I am a practicing Christian, and learned a great deal about Judaism, different views on the Old Testament, and some pretty interesting ways of looking at the world. Kurzweil isn't the head of any of the large organizations that have garnered much Hollywood type attention over the last decade, he is a genuine student and scholar of Kabbalah texts, ancient and modern, who explains the basic ideas to anyone who is curious about them Plenty of information is also given about which texts to turn to for deeper study, as well as some tips on finding a good teacher, if you feel this is part of your spiritual path.

EASY READ
well, what can I say....it's a for Dummies book, and as a dummy I can honestly say it's so easy to read!! I love these books the book it self was used, but in great condition, no marks at all. I always buy used books and never had a problem. it is well worth the money!!

If you are dummy concerning Kabbalah you will like the book.
I have 15years or so of formal Jewish education beginning in elementary school through 2 University degrees. I have never taken or required to study the topic of Kabbalah. While there are advocates for Kabbalah they represent a minority of observant Jews and new agers. The author includes many Kabbalistic subjects. Kabbalists cling to mystical interpretations of the Jewish religion. Other Jews including myself lean toward a rational approach often seen as the Maimonidian approach. The author represents Kabbalah as a mainstay of Judaism. If it is why in fifteen years of intensive formal Jewish education no one saw it appropriate to make mystical Kabbalah one of my required studies.

Much easier for me to follow !! I've tried studying Kabbalah using other books but I guess I'm a true "dummy" LOL - because this book helps me understand what I'm reading. I recommend it.

Wonderful!
Kabbalah can not be seperated from Judaism. It's always been a part of oral tradition, actually it's tradition. Mr. Arthur Kurzweil does not see Kabbalah a new age religion etc. and explains terms in Kabbalah very clearly you may not find elsewhere. For seeing the behind of the scene, understanding jewish philosophy and starting to attain wisdom, this book is a wonderful start.

Life-changing!
BS"DAs a non-Jew, I have always admired how Jews seem to "master life" in an intelligent way thanks to the wisdom in their rich tradition which they inherit from their parents and teachers. Over the years, I collected the basics of that wisdom but I had to read from many scattered sources such as the books on Kabbalah and Torah by Rabbis A.T.Schwarz, Shloma Majeski, Laibl Wolf, Schmuley Boteach, the Chassidic Heritage Series published by Chabad Lubavitch and even a book out of the Tanya.IT HAS BEEN A PLEASURE to find all that wisdom condensed in one single introductory book so simply and clearly written, than even a 5-year-old lad would make sense out of the Kabbalah!!I've started to "see" forces like Netzach or Gevurah taking place in my life and I am learning to manipulate them for my advantage and happiness. I'm also profoundly grateful to the Sages for arming us with powerful weaponry for dealing with life's problems such as Bitachon, Gam Zu L'Tovah or the concept of Mazal. In my experience, as you start to delve into this book you'll get only hungry for more Kabbalah books! But on its own, this book already delivers all the basic ancient wisdom you need to master life. After that, you can always commit to the Kabbalah's way of life by letting yourself being educated in the Sheva Mitzvot by a serious Torah teacher for Gentiles such as asknoah.orgBoy, I love this book!Josep-Maria Ben Josep
