Perfect for fine but thick and long hair!
Finally! After having gone through microfiber turbans, t-shirt turbans, and several other types of hair towels, I found the right one. This towel is large but not unwieldy, just the right thickness, feels silky-smooth, is easy to wrap around my hair, isn't heavy, and stays put while it's there. It absorbs water well and has made a tremendous difference in the appearance of my hair. No more tugging and pulling and breaking hair off--my tangle teezer glides through easily every time. I wash it with the rest of my towels--not much soap, some borax, and a vinegar rinse--and it's holding up wonderfully well. I find that it stretches out a bit from wrapping it around my head (I want to secure it once and be done with it), but the shape snaps back after washing, and it dries quickly. I'm relieved that the search has ended!

Loose curls, no frizz, and shine for me??? Impossible! NO, it's real and it's wonderful!!!
I know this post is long, but in order to understand what my hair was and what it is now using this towel (same with my sister!) that I have to explain: I have blonde hair that is wavy, but each strand is thin which is fairly normal for blonde hair. My 2 brothers and sister ended up with curly hair, but not me. I really love their curls and wish I had that, but I never did. My hair had weird waves, too, causing me to always blow dry it straight all the time. I want the "wet and go" hair, well actually "damp and go" is fine, too, but I never had that, either. I do know that my hair has curl-ability, because any time we go to the beach when I come out of the water and my hair dries, it is so wonderfully curly, loose curls of course, but I will take that in a heart beat. I started using a shampoo for curls that made my waves way more organized such that the waves stayed waves, although I could never blow dry it or the waves would straighten. Even the wind would cause my waves to straighten. If the waves would stay, I'd be happy with that. Then I got this towel and I was getting such lovely, loose curls like at the beach! WOW! I tried about 5 different towels for curly hair that I bought here on Amazon, but this one hands down gives me the results I'm looking for. Then my curly hair shampoo ran out and I just used my old shampoo that did nothing for my waves. I used this towel and it wasn't the curly shampoo that made my waves nice, it was this towel! This towel gives me practically the same effect without me treating my hair! Granted, if I do nothing, my waves straighten out the next day when I go to brush my hair (I shampoo my hair every other day). I don't care though, because I can leave my hair damp after crunching with the towel and at least for 1 day, it does what I love! Better yet, my hair was quite frizzy when I blow dried it straight, I mean maybe other people didn't care, but when I compared my hair to others, I knew my hair had a frizz problem. I have been using this towel for about a year now and switched my shampoo to the first coconut based shampoo I found. The other day I was brushing my hair and I couldn't believe my eyes! I had shine in my "straight" hair without frizz!! Although I know my new shampoo kicked up the shine some, it never could shine like it now does had I not been using this towel! Apparently, my hair had a lot of time in this towel which allowed my hair to repair some how. Seriously, I don't use shampoo that repairs hair or taps down frizziness, because I spent a fortune on hair products years ago for treating frizz, but to no avail. Yes, when I first used this towel, it gave me nice waves with minimized frizz, but when I brushed it out resulting in my straightened hair, I still had some fly-aways, albeit way better than without the towel, but they were still noticeable by me at least. Now the "some fly-aways" are a thing of the past! Even better, my waves become very loose curls, too, if I use a product (shampoo or leave in conditioner) that enhances curls. Even though it was a process to figure this all what's best for my hair, I am finally happy with my hair! Curls, no frizz and shine?!?! I feel like I hit the lottery!! Lastly, my sister who has naturally loose curls always blow dried it straight, which only worked for her on extremely dry days. Any day with humidity above 50%, her curls are always trying to curl. Since she blow dried the hair straight, she'd tell me her cowlicks and frizz are out of control on humid days. I knew it had to be her curls trying to kick up. I always wanted her to work with her curls not against them, but I knew she would laugh at me for such a ridiculous suggestion. When I discovered this towel and it worked so well on me, I had to get one for my sister! Amazing results! She too has been using this towel for quite some time. Her frizz is minimal (including minimal for humid days!) and her loose curls are so freaking beautiful! They hold throughout the day and she doesn't have any cowlicks because her hair is doing what it was born to do! This towel gave me such good results, I now believe that the terrycloth towels were damaging my "thin strand" blonde hair. Now, I rather go with soaking wet hair than to use a terrycloth towel and damage my hair. Also, I'm the opposite of some of the folks who gave reviews saying they find using a t-shirt on their hair is better than this towel. I believe what they say, but for me it's the opposite. In a pinch when I don't have this towel available, I will use a t-shirt, if it's available. I simply don't get the same results as with this towel. One is not enough to make it to laundry time for me. That's why I am back to buy more! I am against any compensation via discounts, coupons, or any other cost break for giving reviews. This review is my true experience.

Doesn't cause breakage on fine hair
For fine and thin haired gals, this works great to protect hair. Have seen a noticeable difference in my hair health and quality since using these, much less breakage. Had to deduct a star because these do not absorb water as well as I'd like, they are very thin towels which do not weigh on hair but also don't sop up water from the hair. Otherwise I'd definitely recommend for improving hair health.

Better than Microfiber
Curly gurus will all tell you that you absolutely NEED a microfiber towel. This towel proves them wrong! It's really great to have an environmentally-friendly option that doesn't cause frizz. And it's low-maintenance. Just throw it in the wash and the dryer no problem (mine didn't shrink even though it's cotton.) At first I was thinking "why should I spend money on a cotton towel when I could just use an old t-shirt," but once I used this I didn't regret buying it. It's really high-quality, soft fabric and absorbs more than a t-shirt, which is too thin and usually not soft enough. This towel is nice and big and will definitely fit all your hair. My hair is shoulder length and thick, but I can wrap two layers of this towel around my head. (Figuring out the best way to wrap your hair takes a while given the size of the towel, but I consider that a good problem.) It leaves my hair so soft and light. It's also great for gently scrunching and just wearing around your shoulders while your hair is air-drying. You can sleep in it overnight, but you might want to put some sort of soft towel on your pillow because your pillow will get damp. Since this towel is so absorbent, sometimes my curls are too dried out when I take it off in the morning. So after I take it off, I usually just dampen my hair with a spray bottle and put on a little gel, and that does the trick. (Or do whatever works for you.) Like any other hair towel, be sure to wash it frequently. It absorbs a lot of water and gets really wet. Plus, hair product will start to build up on it.

Best curly-hair-drying towel ever!
Going by the Curly Girl charts, my hair is 3c/4a. This towel is wonderful! The fabric has no loops. The other micro fiber towels I've used have loops in the "weave" that catch and snag my hair! The fabric on this Hair Repear towel is ..flat.. and it's thirsty to drink up that after-shower dripping water. There is an elastic strap in the back to hold it in place after "turban" or "pineapple" wrapping. The size is ample to use the towel across my shoulders to catch water from the spray bottle I use while working with styling products. I use it for micro-plopping, too, (pressing into a section to absorb excess water, gel or product). This is when I saw the value of my Hair Repear Towel: my hair doesn't snag nor get caught in the t hfabric. Curly hair can frizz easily and catching can separate natural curl clumping and the cast. My new towel makes my hair post-shampoo and styling so much easier, and prevents other issues.

It helps and also has some drawbacks
I chose this one for a couple of reasons -- 1) it's larger and can be used as a towel and not just a turban; 2) I believed the "smooth surface" stuff that I actually googled about. My hair DOES feel very soft and is frizz free for the first day, at least. So -- how does it work? I have somewhat thick hair, and even after more than an hour my hair is still pretty damp. I didn't expect it to actually dry, but they shouldn't say that. Maybe because it is NOT a turban, I find that it doesn't stay on my head as well. I have to use a clip to stabilize it. I, as others have said, think a button would work better than an elastic loop which, by it's nature, WILL stretch out. For the cost, I wish it was a little closer to what I expected and hoped.

Best hair plopping towel, ever!
I've tried many hair towels over the years and I always end up with one of my husband's old t-shirts. I'm usually pretty satisfied with those. But I thought I'd splurge this time, since I've been using the tees for years and needed to upgrade. Man, I've been missing out! At first I ordered the large one and it was way too big for my plopping needs. The next size worked so much better, but I could go a little smaller - but that isn't offered anymore. - This towel does not bleed! 🎉 I have very light colored bedding. I'm impressed! - It stays on my head while I sleep! I'm an all night plopper, that's what works for me. - Usually I have to wash my tees after one use, since they absorb the gel and get a little hard. Not these towels! - With my tees I had to use at least double the products and a variety. I tried my usual mix with this towel and my hair was a mess! It was gross! I thought this towel isn't going to workout. So I pulled back and used only one product (gel) and tried again. It was amazing! I ended up with great curls, without having to diffuse from scratch, which I hate having to do. It's so time consuming, I'd rather sleep lol. My method is simple: Wash and scrunch a good amount of gel in, play with what works for you. Then I let my curl pattern set a little, but don't let it dry or get a crunchy cast. Then I plop overnight. In the morning I remove towel. I let it come down on its own, I refrain from touching and marvel that my hair is mostly done! I get coffee and such, then I will take a pick and lightly flick my hair to help it come down and merge in the back as well as lift the roots too. I'm careful not to pull my curl pattern out, don't get carried away. Then I mist in Not Your Mother's Beach Babe TEXTURIZING Sea Salt Spray (their other one doesn't work the same for me). Then I lightly difuse, to dry the spray, which is uber quick! Sometimes I'll have straglers mostly at the top from plopping, so I will finger coil and pin/clip those and let them be while I put my face on. Then I remove clips and tada! It may sound like a lot, but it's quick compared to doing it from scratch! It may not be as curly as if I spent half a day on it, but I'm happy! These hair towels should be number one sellers on Amazon!
