Beautiful!!!
I bought this keyboard as used but in excellent condition, and it is beautiful. I can't see that it was used. There was a problem with the space bar right out of the box, but it turned out that someone must have taken it off before I got it and put it back incorrectly. I did call the AZIO customer support number and was treated very well by a great guy named David, but I was eventually able to figure the problem myself and fix it. That done, the keyboard is totally awesome. First, I have to say it came beautifully packaged - great care was given in creating attractive, sturdy packaging. Out of the box it was stunning, and I was surprised to find it on the hefty side. It has enough weight to it that I am not moving or pushing either the keyboard or the wrist pad as I type. The sound is clicky and the feel is nice, but it's not overwhelmingly loud and the keys feel nice as I type. Years ago I bought an AZIO gaming keyboard with brown keys, and it is louder, which I found I liked, but the sound of this one is absolutely fine and it is still not a quiet keyboard. I'd say it's a slightly mellower sound than the AZIO brown keys I have. The look is stunning - prettier than the photos showed and the round keys are very easy to adapt to. The lighting is bright, without a lot of reflecting on the leather base beneath the keys, and I can turn them off, dim, or brighten them as I like. I first bought another gaming keyboard to replace my original AZIO, and I was very discouraged to discover that with the polished, chrome-edged keys, the light under them reflected so much off the surrounding keys that I couldn't see anything but glare. That may not be a problem for someone with young, good eyes, but for me it was impossible. So I returned it and shelled out the extra money for this one and there is no problem. The letters and symbols light brightly and the copper bezel around the keys has only a warm glow. There is no bouncing, glaring light on this keyboard. The light is only white, but it wouldn't look right as RGB. This is an elegant look. And while I would personally consider this an expensive keyboard, it looks like a million bucks. Mine arrived set up for Mac, and it was an easy thing to switch out the keys for Windows. The keys are plastic, but they feel solid and that isn't a problem. My other AZIO is over 8 years old and its keys are still like new, so I expect these to last as well. I wanted a compact keyboard as I use my computer and the space on my table for creating art and design projects, and the smaller size is perfect. It may look small, but it looks tough. And sometimes, looks count as much as performance. I am totally happy that I bought this keyboard and I would recommend it on every account from looks to handling to performance. I guess my only thing to fuss about is that now I feel the need to dress up my monitor and work area to go with it. I work on a huge Wacom Cintiq, and I am thinking a copper and wood frame around it ought to give that cool steampunk retro look that this little keyboard is demanding. How fun will that be - and besides, sometimes you just want cool tools to make cool things with!

Quality Materials, Great Feel
I’ve only used the keyboard for a few hours, but here are my first impressions. The build quality and materials are outstanding. I was a bit apprehensive purchasing a moderately high-end keyboard based only on pictures. The packaging is well thought out and contains the keyboard, manual, extra key caps for Windows/Mac, extra feet, and even a cleaning brush. The keyboard itself is very well made from the quality of the wood to the fit and finish of the metal fittings. The USB-C power for recharging or connecting the keyboard via wire is solid and a nice upgrade over micro-usb. The keyboard is weighty and feels very solid. I did have a small issue setting up Bluetooth. There are three bluetooth channels for up to 3 devices. To initially pair the keyboard, you need to activate one of the channels by press Fn+1 (or Fn+2 or Fn+3). Then to actually start paring, you must press and hold Fn+Eject (on the Mac layout.) My keyboard shipped with the Delete and Eject keys swapped (see photo)— so naturally, I was unable to get Bluetooth to pair. After five or six attempts with different devices, I was nearly ready to give up. That’s when I noticed the picture of the keyboard didn’t match mine. I swapped the keys and paired on the first try. I’m not sure if this was an assembly error, or if I had received a “returned” unit. Key cap issue aside, after I paired the keyboard, I did a bit of coding. I have the smaller compact 81 key keyboard. It’s really a pleasure to code with. The mechanical keys have a nice stroke and pleasant “snap/click” as they’re pressed. I spent a few hours typing. The keyboard sits moderately high, but the enclosed walnut wrist-rest made typing comfortable. There is also a second set of rear feet for the keyboard if you prefer more of an angle. I really don’t have much use for the Function keys across the top, but it’s nice to have them just for media control. I tried them out on both my iMac and iPad Pro. They immediately worked for the brightness, volume, and MacOS/iOS functions. I haven’t tried the media keys in MS Window mode yet. Finally, let me touch upon the backlighting. The design here is wonderful. Instead of the cost-cutting “throw a few LED’s on the mounting plate”, the RCK has LED’s under each key feeding light directly up into the key caps themselves. The backlighting looks beautiful and has a few simple animations to show you pairing, battery level, etc. The brightness can be adjusted with a Fn key combo from “off” to a soft glow, to quite bright in several steps.

I like this more than I expected
I have been in the market for a 'steampunk' style classic keyboard for many years. It is not what I had in mind when I purchased this product. I have a new wooden desk and wanted a keyboard that would blend in nicely, which this does. However the appearance and key action is actually very similar to the steampunk keyboard I had imagined. The key strokes have a weighty feel, not as clicky and seemingly heavier than my mechanical keyboard. The wooden backing and lining are both nice, and the wristwrest is also surprisingly nice. I don't know how long it will stay nice; I figure either my sweat or moisture will cause it to warp sooner or later. But for now it feels nice and the keyboard is great. The backlit keys look nice. I haven't used the bluetooth mode much so I can't comment on the battery life. I will say that in bluetooth mode there is a 1/2 second delay on keystrokes sometimes, which annoyed me so I switched it back to wired mode. The other minor gripe I have is the keys themselves are a little cheap. The key lining (plastic, though it looks metal) fell off the back of one key when I was using it. It didn't seem broken so I just pushed it back in, and it's been fine. But not the greatest of quality. Though I imagine if they keys were actual metal this thing would cost $500.

Expensive and lovely dud
A beautiful and costly item that I haven't been able to get to work for months. It does not pair via bluetooth with my computer. When I contact Azio support, they refer me to the same instructions that come with the keyboard. So if you want to pay hundreds of dollars for a gorgeous, oversized paperweight, this is your chance. Update: sent the keyboard back to Azio, and they sent me another one. This one pairs with my computer but straight out of the box the spacebar sticks nearly every time I hit it. It only takes half an hour for this to start getting annoying, so I just went back to my Apple keyboard. I put it back in the box. I give up. You got me Azio: I saw that beautiful piece of equipment, and I fell for it.

Simply amazing!
I usually don't write reviews but this keyboard deserves one. Writing this review on my iphone before going to bed, wish i was writing it on the keyboard though. 1. Packaging - when buying something around this price range you expect good packaging but they went above and beyond my imagination. The packaging comes in rock solid case and loved opening it. It’s actually better than apple’s macbook pro packaging. 2. Initial reaction - i got the elwood and man does it live up to the standard. Beautifully crafted and detailed to perfection. The only complain i had was the fn and cmd keys were swapped so i was having trouble connecting via bluetooth. But after solving that issue i was good to go. 3. Typing - my requirements were a mechanical keyboard thats wireless, backlit, can connect to different devices and mac compatible. I only found one other company that can do that and i tested both this keyboard and the other company’s. Both felt good typing and had the same layout, but i choose this one because it felt better when typing. The keys click with a good sound, they are no cherry mx brown click sound but really i didn't get this keyboard for the click sound. The click sound is great in my opinion and keys feel solid. I’ve been working on this computer for work and personal throughout the weekend and love every minute of it. Type of work is coding, emails, research papers, etc. Didn’t buy this keyboard for gaming and i wouldn’t suggest brown switches for gaming anyways. 4. Build - rock solid yes the keys are plastic but they feel well made. They are very easy to take out and switch if need to. I did notice that the j had a little dot and instead of f having the dot it was the key d. I’ll contact the company and ask them why...hopefully they will send out a replacement. Not only is the build solid but the backlight works great. Many keyboards have different light settings but i just wanted something sophisticated and this did that flawlessly. 5. Connectivity - wired no issues of course. For bluetooth it was a bit tricky to set up however after having to figure it out it works fine. I swit h from my work mac to my personal mac without any issues. When the computer is asleep and they keyboard goes to sleep it takes a second to reconnect and get online but not more than that. I plan on connecting my windows pc too. If any of the above change i will be sure to update the review. My advice is for you to try it yourself along with other keyboards and other switches. You wont regret this keyboard. I love it and can’t wait to keep on working on it.

Its a very good looking keyboard....BUT
So how does this thing work? I don’t like the spacing of these keys but they are fairly easy to type on correctly with minimal typos. I hate the noise this thing makes. So much so that I already know that I am going to return it. For the price of this keyboard, it really should’ve had better switches, or be hot-swappable. There isn’t a need for these weird low-profile switches. Also, the colors of the “wood” don’t match. The wristrest is more red than the keyboard. It’s weird considering all the “wood” on this thing seems to be plastic that they couldn’t match the color better. But maybe the veneer on the keyboard is a different material? It does sound and feel more like real wood, in which case, I understand why it’s a different shade, and might eventually darken to match…. But maybe that's just wishful thinking… Who knows! Whatever the case this is going back. It sounds and feels like garbage. Here are some other annoyances, in no particular order: The rear feet aren’t secure, they pop right off when I touch them. It would have also been nice if the wristrest frame were the same height as the keyboard frame. The frames of the keyboard and wristrest are the same length, but because they aren’t the same height, the wristrest looks like it's shorter and is very distracting to me. It’s knit picky, I know, but if you’re buying a keyboard for its aesthetics, you will probably notice it as well. The caps lock light is a tiny blue dot and too dim. It would have worked better if it were red, or even better if the word changed colors, it feels kind of lazy. The ESC key light is pink. I think it’s supposed to be red, but it is too low-powered to shine through in the correct color. And lastly, there is a dedicated eject key! very retro, indeed! Lol. (By the way- this review was typed as I tested the keyboard for the first time. What better way to test a keyboard than to type out a review of it as you go!) Oh, one last thing. I first bought this as a used (like new) item for a lot less. But when I received it, the packing was completely destroyed and most of the stuff in the box was missing, including the wristrest. I guess some dirtbag decided to keep it when they returned it. I returned that one, and bought a brand-new one instead. So be wary. Very lame.

Awesome thing to have
This is more than I even expected. Design is fascinating- wood, plastic, metal in one combination of perfectly composed device. Suits for Pc/Mac - there is a set of buttons you could change easily then for the mode you use. Connection via USB or Bluetooth (I use USB for now and can’t provide the feedback yet on that, so my 4 stars are just because of that). All buttons are in place, no special strength to be applied when typing - sound is fantastic! (Believe me, at the office I have old mech keyboard). It is compact and pretty heavy. There are two additional feet; the backlights for buttons with controlled brightness. I’ve bought is with discount and I’m glad to get the quality.

Great... if Copper, Orange and Lights turn you on...
Being a vintage gal that I am, I am absolutely in love with its clickety-typing aesthetics. It also comes with a USB charger, interchangeable feet stands, a fabric duster bag, a key dust brush and a matching padded wrist rest. A few draw backs for me (doesn't effect the rating due to its extra-stocked accomodations): 1. Wish it came in a pastel pink or baby blue- maybe I'll spray paint it... 2. Wish it had a slot for me to rest my ipad/tablet 2. Hate that the typer has lights: it lights up like a blooming neon orange christmas tree in May (in the light or in the dark)- theres no off button 3. The instructions (which I actually read) didn't help me sync my tablet and ipad (maybe I got a defective version); instead, I had to You Tube the "how to" part -Thank YOU You Tube! I also tried another similar version on here... STUNNING but it stopped working under 2 weeks. I didn't want to return it but after hours and a week and a half later of trying to contact everyone under the sun with poor end results I decided to return it. I'm STILL so disappointed...its a GORGEOUS paperweight... This typer is ok.... at least it works for now. I'll see if it continues to stay working through the weeks. *Cross my fingers*
