Flint and steel great value for money
The media could not be loaded. Everything I need to start a fire comes in the tin box. There is a hand forged high carbon steel striker, collapsible stainless steel bellows, an English flint stone, char cloth and jute tinder. I also got a sample of fire cord.I gave the stone a glancing strike with the flint, a spark fell onto the char cloth and created my ember. Then I wrapped it in the jute tinder and blew on it to ignite flames. I was very impressed with the steel itself. It is a great quality steel with a smooth surface that is very nice in the hand. It is very easy to get good sparks with and the char cloth ignited quickly. The steel can also be used as a bow drill socket. The stone is very good and I had no problems igniting the char cloth. This is a great quality bit of kit, incredibly easy to use and excellent value. Well worth the buy.

Esse who..... perfect and just as good
Compared to other brands at twice the price this is perfect. Throws sparks for fun on flint and works amazing with a ferro as well. Just remember to match your spindle end to the dent on your spindle and you have a great bearing block. Three uses all in one perfect little package.

It works.
Arrived today, looks like the tin has been sat on by big daddy and giant haystacks then thrown under a steamroller, once I find a new tin then it will be ok as it gives good sparks. Nice little emergency kit for when the crap hits the fan.

Does the job!!
Swift delivery and value for money..The product throw’s good sparks when using it as a steel.. It’s small and light enough to fit into a small fire kit that’ll easily fit in your pocket or edc..The only downside is it heats up very quickly when using it as a bearing block for making fire by bowdrill, this is easily solved by carrying a small piece of leather or using a glove when you are using this method..Overall I’m very pleased with the product and it’s became a permanent part of my everyday outdoor kit..

Excellent kit
Great kit whih comes in a nice tin. The steel creates sparks easily with the flint provided that can easily be caught on the char cloth and then placed in the jute twine and blown or waved into flame. The pocket bellows are great but probably better used on an established fire bed to reignite it rather than blowing on the char cloth ember. Great way to start practicing flint and steel firelighting great value.

Not Actual Flint!
Was hoping for a real piece of flint (as was advertised in the description) but it's actually quartz. While you can technically use quartz with a steel striker, the piece I received broke into tiny shards whenever I used it and it's potentially quite unsafe. The steel striker is functional but unwieldy if you have small hands. Tin is also a lot larger than it looks, which is nice if that's what you want.Overall an okay kit but probably not worth £20.

Excellent carbon steel striker...
Excellent carbon steel striker supplied with a handful of flint stones and small pieces of charcloth. I was able to strike a spark onto the cloth and start a fire within a few strikes. Excellent tool and lots of fun. I am yet to try the fire bow pivot point feature, but I have no doubt it would fit the task perfectly. Very happy with the purchase and product.
