Microfacies of Carbonate Rocks: Analysis, Interpretation and Application

I love this book. I had old addition of it but I had lost that. Now I am happy to have its new addition. It provides a foundation to understand limestone microfacies and to interpret depositional environments. I have no hesitation to say that this book is a milestone in my professional career as a carbonate petrographer.

Absolute must-have for all carbonate geologist. Answers many questions and provides great insight.

Ich kann mich nur meinem englischsprachigen Vorredner anschließen. Die Arbeit, die Erik Flügel hier abgeliefert hat, geht weit über den normalen Standard hinaus. Ein Einsteiger in die Geologie der Karbonate findet sich mit Herrn Flügels Hilfe sehr schnell zurecht und kann nach Belieben tiefer in die Materie eindringen. Grundlage hierfür bilden nicht nur die ausführliche und logisch Aufgebauten Inhalte der Bibel (auch hier stimme ich meinem Vorredner zu) selbst, sondern auch die phantastische Bibliographie, die trotz ihrer Komplexität nicht an Aktualität verloren hat. Flügel stellt dem Geologen mit diesem Werk ein ideales Werk-zeug zur Seite, das das gefühlte Wissen von zwei oder drei Personen beinhaltet. Beeindruckend von vorne bis hinten.

Buon libro per chi vuole approfondirei aspetti globali dei sedimenti carbonatici, immagini in bianco e nero.... sarebbe stato meglio che fossero tutte a colori e non solo alcune.
