Great Helmet, but small when it is advertised as 3+ years old
After reading reviews that this helmet was very small, I ordered it for my son who is 14 months old for use when I have him in the bike trailer. It fits him very well but would be very small if I tried it on him when he is 3 years old, I have a feeling. It is perfect for my son who has a very large head for his age (90%), but do not think it would fit a child who was "3+" as the packaging suggests. Love the helmet and the design, and is a perfect size for him so 5 stars.

Cute helmet. Use the sizing dial
The circus microshell helmet is adorable. I left off one star because those cute little animals on the sides? Yea, only stickers. So eventually those circus animals will bite the dust with enough use. I saw other reviews that stated the helmet was too small. I purchased this for my 12 month old daughter whose head size is in the 66th percentile for size, so basically my girl has an average size noggin (relative to the growth chart for girls birth to 3 years). I was a bit apprehensive at first when I read the concerns over the size but for us, it fits perfectly. There is also a sizing dial in the back of the helmet that you turn to tighten or loosen, in order to have the helmet fit properly. You need to make sure that the dial is opened up as wide as possible prior to wearing, then carefully tighten it once on your little one's head. This makes it a unique, snug fit for each individual. Keep in mind this also means that the helmet dial must be loosened first before trying to remove it!

Well made and cute
This helmet seems to be well made and was easy to adjust the fit, but unfortunately our granddaughter doesn't like wearing it. I don't think she would like wearing ANY helmet, so I don't blame the helmet. She's just not a "hat" of any kind child.

It's cute, but this Mom is disappointed & concerned about the lack of quality
I was really disappointed in the quality of this helmet. We got it because our local stores only had pink helmets with Dora, Barbie or butterflies, OR just plain black or with obnoxious spikes/decoration on the top. Our son did not mind-he did like pink Dora, but we knew he would LOVE this one because he is obsessed with trucks and construction equipment. Anything that makes him go from just liking a helmet to wanting to wear it even he is not on a bike is a win for us. Or so I thought. When we got this I first noticed that the coloring is just a piece of heat wrapped thin plastic over the foam. There is warping on the underside where it has bubbled and is not smooth fitting along the foam. Then I noticed that there is a seam along the edge of the helmet from the top to the bottom. This is due to the black and yellow part being just a piece of washi-style tape that was stuck on somewhat unevenly. There is overlap where the tape ends to make it more secure, but because the yellow is somewhat transparent, you can see where it has doubled over the black lines. The tape was scuffed on multiple edges (the side and the back) so that it was already worn down to a white base layer. There was also scuffs in the plastic part along the sides and top. They weren't a huge deal, but if the item arrives NEW like this, I cannot imagine how long it would last under the use of my rough and tumble preschooler. He also is a kid that picks apart any defect (literally) so I am afraid that if I give him an item in this condition, the cuteness of the dump truck and loader decals will be done after just one use. I am really glad I saw this and was able to look it over before he did, because he would have been REALLY excited about it. But after seeing the quality, I just cannot justify keeping it. I would rather have a plain black one that he won't ruin after just one use. All in all, I was really surprised at the lack or quality in this. It is not that much cheaper than the ones we saw in store. It is NOTHING like how the coloring of my adult helmet by Bell is constructed. It is also very lightweight, and I am concerned that just a drop on the floor from indoor play (without even biking) will ruin the foam-safety interior. It does not feel as dense as my adult helmet either. Very disappointed overall. If you want a cute helmet just to encourage a child who already has aversion to helmet use, then maybe this would be a good option. However, that is not our situation and I would rather have a safe, lasting product than just something that is temporarily cute.

Seriously, is this made for a newborn?
There were several comments made in here about how small this helmet is. And, I must admit, I thought most of these people must just have gigantically headed children. I was wrong. Sorry, other reviewers - you were right. My daughter is a year and a half - and her head is in perfect proportion with the rest of her body. Really. And, this helmet is ridiculously small. It will not fit on her head properly and therefore, is worthless. I will have to return this helmet, sadly.

Size is quite small!
It looks like a decent helmet, but this helmet 'for ages 3 and up' was WAY too small for my 2.5 year old even though it is adjustable. Seems like this is a good helmet but the size runs very small.

Make sure the dial is not stuck
The helmet fits my 3 year old really nice. At first we thought all the negative reviews were right as we could barely adjust the back and fit it on him.....but several people had given the head measurements for their kids and I knew my son's head (50% percentile) was supposed to fit....that's when we decide to force a bit the dial on the back that regulates the size and.....it was just stuck! now it opens full width and it fits our son perfect and there's definitely room to grow. so now I'm wondering if all the negative reviews had our same problem and didn't realize it. Overall a good buy and I'm happy we didn't send it back right away but tried again :)

Live these and so easy to adjust
Best and easiest helmet to use!! I bought one for each of my kids (2 year old, 3.5 year old) and they still have plenty of room to grow into it. Cute designs too!!
