Excellent replacement earpads for the Grado SR80i
I read about these earpads on various headphone enthusiast websites. I currently own the Grado SR80i headphones. While I love the sound of the Grado's, the stock "Comfy" pads that come with the SR80i are terrible - coarse, scratchy and very thin, without providing much in the way of cushioning. One of the first recommended upgrades for the SR80i is to ditch the Comfy pads in favor of the L-Cushions (the Bowls), which are supposed to be more comfortable. I did buy a pair but found the comfort worse than the Comfy pad. The next pad size up is the G-cushion, a full over ear pad which are intended for Grado's top end headphones. Not wanting to spend 50 bucks on ear pads, I read the Sennheiser pads were excellent replacements.I purchased mine here through Amazon (Thanks Amazon for the fast delivery!). As mentioned by others, the openings on the Sennheiser pad is marginally smaller than Grado pads. However, the pads installed easily. I was also surprised to see that after installation that the pads are slightly cup shaped, unlike the Grado Comfy's which are totally flat. I find the sponge material much softer and denser than the Grado pads. They are much more comfortable than the stock pads. The yellow color doesn't really bother me.Based on what I've read here and elsewhere online, folks mention they feel these pads change the sound of the SR80i from the stock pads. Maybe I don't have that discerning of an ear, but I can't really tell the difference in sound quality between the Sennheiser pads and the stock Grado's. The only thing I can point out is that because of the cup shape of the Sennheiser pads, the speaker drivers are not sitting directly on the ear like the Grado pads so perhaps folks are attributing that as a difference in sound. Honestly, if there is a difference it's imperceptible to me.All-in-all, these are a nice upgrade from the stock SR80i, less expensive than Grado replacements and definitely more comfortable.

Replaced My Original SR80 pads
I had my original Grado SR80 pads for about 4 years before the pads started disintegrating. They literally were crumbling upon touching them. I was disappointing to say the least, and expected to pay for expensive replacement pads through Grado.I found these on amazon, and for way less than what Grado wanted to charge me. I gotta say... the yellow color is pretty hideous. But I use my headphones at my computer and they never leave my house, so I'm really not concerned with the cosmetic factor here. In a weird way, they kind of give the headphones some character lol. If I did leave the house with them, I would proudly wear them, if only to show what all those Beats headphone wearers are missing out on.I've had the yellow pads for over a year now and they are holding up really well. They fit over the cans like a glove, and are a bit softer on my ears than the original black Grado pads. I love my SR80s and love that I could extend the life of them with an inexpensive and quality product from Sennheiser.

Sennheiser HD 414 replacement ear pads make Grado SR-80's more comfortable, but they do affect the sound a tiny bit.
Having had these replacement ear phone pads designed for Sennheiser HD 414 headphones on my Grado SR-80's for a couple of days, I have come to two conclusions about them. They do make the Grado SR-80's considerably more comfortable. They also affect the sound to some degree. They do not turn the great sound of the Grado SR-80's into a bad or mediocre sound, they simply muffle them a very tiny bit. The overall sound quality is still very high. With these Sennheiser HD 414 ear pads, the Grado SR-80's just lose a tiny smidge of volume and perhaps lose a tiny smidge of the extreme crispness of the high frequency parts of various recordings. I have of course kept the original Grado SR-80 ear pads. If I am in an audiophile mood listening to a musical recording with lots of high frequencies (orchestral stuff with a lot of percussion for instance), then I will use the Grado SR-80 ear pads. If I am watching a 2 hour movie online on Netflix, I will use the Sennheiser HD 414 replacement ear pads as in this circumstance, comfort is much more important. Overall, I will probably be using the Sennheiser HD 414 replacement ear pads most of the time.

My trusty old Sennheisers were restored with these
The Sennheiser earphone pads are foam rubber and after a few years, they degrade. These were EXACTLY the right fit and worked beautifully. Sound quality was unaffected by the foam and was just as good as the originals. Highly recommended.

Scratchy and worsen sound quality on Grados. Stock pads are better, but not bad for $12
These pads arent that great on Grados, but Ok for the price. They're not as comfortable as the OG, scratchy and rough. They also worsen the sound. I think it's a combination of being a little thinner and a little more porous than the stock pads. They just make all the sounds over maybe 800kHz (upper midrange and up) shrill and sharper, and bass not as tight. I go back and forth between these and the stock Grado pads and theres no contest. The stock pads are softer and also tame the mids and highs, with a rounder, meatier sound by maybe 10%. These pads get a 3 star cause theyre ok for $12 and they look cool. If I didnt have the original pads, I dont know if youre notice the difference, but since I have both, I cant replace the OGs with these.*I should also note. I mistakenly thought these were Yaxi Pads, but they are not and that is my mistake. But I did order Yaxi Pads to see if theyre the same as these. But just read the listing more carefully than me. These are NOT Yaxi Pads.**edit**I ordered actual Yaxi Pads. Though they look similar, they are very different. These are rougher and much less comfortable. Also Yaxi Pads dull the Highs and make everything sound bloated and muffled. These make everything sound thin and sharp. Neither are good for Grados.
