You can raise penquins with this unit
This is the 2nd one I've owned in past 20 years. The first one lasted 19 years and ran almost constantly. This is the best buy at Amazon. Hands down, the quality, performance and ability to cool and heat a 450 sq, ft, room is un-matched. At this price, you get everything you need to install and have operational in a few hours. In this Texas heat, set at 75 degrees keeps the room cool and at 72 it will have you looking for blankets and coats.

Great systemsplit compression nut that resulted in loosing all coolant from line set.
Easy install, the line set is 15' and the control wire is 10' so company shipped a replacement wire to complete the install. I have installed 3 other split air systems and if you are an experienced tradesman, it is very straightforward. Use lockthread on the copper fittings, vacuum system for 30 minutes, and measure for leak. Then open the valves to release refrigerant and you have heat and cool air. System was installed OCtober 15th 2021 in South GA. We had several weeks of hot weather and the AC runs cold and quiet. In December, we used the heat for the first time, it is great for a 750 sf ranch home with R40 insulation in attic and a closed system crawl with R19. Weather outside was 20 degrees and maintained 78 inside no problem. **** February 10, 2022 system is no longer producing heat. P-4 error on inside unit. This is either a bad PCM or Compressor, emailed seller and ticket opened. 5 days later no response. DO NOT BUY! I have a 10 year old split air system still running strong and two three year old units problem free, there is no reason a compressor should fail after 4 months. Great system, I had it professionally installed. Kept home cool in 800sf ranch for 12 months. P4 error, called technician who diagnosed the problem as a split compression nut that resulted in loosing all coolant from line set. They replaced the nut and refilled the system for a total cost of $649. This was not covered under warranty so buyer beware.

Saves money over the window shakers
I got 2 12K BTU to replace 2 12K and 1 9K window shakers, went from a $350ish electric bill down to a $160-180 electric bill. I used to run a 12K and the 9K just to cool the main floor of my 100 year old house (900 sf) and if it was 90 outside my living room was 80 with a 12K window shaker set to 65 and all other rooms closed off. I moved the 12K window shaker to replace the 9K due to the mini-split cooling the whole house, and even making it colder. Most the time I have it set to 70 and when it dips down to 70 at night I wake up to a 65 degree house. Which is nice when its 80 outside. I don't really use the heat side of it as much as the AC side, but it did work and was pretty hot coming out. Most the time I have to see if its turned on due to how loud the window shaker was. Pretty easy to install, I do AC work on cars so I have the pump and manifold to do the work. I did over kill on the wiring (8 gauge) with a 20 amp breaker. Figured I would wait a year to see how it would pay for itself, and saving $100-150 a month for the past 6 months says they do. Now if only I can talk my sister into dumping her 18K window shaker for a mini-split.

Good Mini-Split, Kit Not As Great
I want to be clear that the muni-split itself is really nice. A friend in HVAC helped me with the installation and was quite impressed with a number of the features. However, the installation kit is NOT great. I got the Klimaire 12,000 BTU 20.8 SEER2 Ductless Mini-Split Inverter Air Conditioner Heat Pump System with All-Inclusive 16' Installation Kit, Wall Bracket, Electrical Disconnect Box & Liquid-Tight Whip (115V). So, lets break down the kit. The wall support rack has no instructions and is extremely complicated to figure out. We decided not to use it, it just wasn't worth the effort and more than likely the extra hour of work to install. The A/C cut off box is set up for 230v which threw me for a loop. It turns out you can use it with 110v, but interestingly enough, the electrician I had come out to provide a quote to run a line said I couldn't. No biggie, we used it, but it requires a 19-25 amp BUS fuse (x2) and did NOT come with them. Ouch, thankfully another friend in heating and air down the road had them on hand. The kit does not come with the line set cover, you need to purchase that separately. There were a couple of other things in the instructions we had to provide, and some connectors for the electric hookups. You need a 1/2-inch compression coupler or two for the box and unit. I also bought 3/4" EMP conduit, wet location junctions, and 3/4" compression couplers. I also needed a 20amp breaker and 12/2 wire (if you want to go a bit overkill, get 10/2). The wiring diagrams don't match the whip provided or the colors of the wires for the unit, but we found alternates in the list. The unit itself is quiet! Runs well, and does the job in a rather large garage with 10-foot ceilings. It took roughly 6-8 hours to install with the help of my knowledgable friend who has his own business in heat/air for the last 40 years or so. That does not include the wiring, which is totally not worth what the electrician wanted to charge. I ended up doing that myself and saved $4k in he process. The time also doesn't take into account the demolition of the window and building a wall in it's place so I could mount this thing in the best location for the space. So, you can expect to spend a full day. It's worth it, but save yourself some money and just by the mini-split - get the other items you need separately. It wasn't worth the price of the kit, and that is why I removed a star.

Price, quiet, easy to install
Unbelievable unit at a great price. This is my first split mini system, i was leary, after getting it up and running (myself) i am beyond impressed with its features and ability to heat. Wiring was a little confusing, its very simple to wire after i figured it out but directions made it confusing. Outside unit is so quiet i thought it wasn't working, inside unit operates silently but efficiently. Im putting these in the rest of house.

Difficult install
The unit was not easy to install. The directions were vague and connecting the electrical cord to it was a hunting guessing game. Once installed it works very well and the heater makes our living room nice and cozy.
