I had just purchased a 20 volume developer and tub of bleach because I wanted to go bold & bright. I didn't even know this stuff existed, but I'm glad I found it before I did the bleaching! I had box dye on with a couple of inches of regrowth, so whoever says it can't be done over previously colored hair, it's simply not true. I have been coloring my hair at home for years and I didn't find this to be any harder or messier to use. I didn't even think the smell was that bad compared to some others that I've used in the past. I mixed it with a 20 volume developer because I didn't want to go too harsh if I didn't have to. I used a bottle that I bought from Sally to do the measuring and then poured it into a little tub to mix with the tube of color. I started away from my roots and brushed the color on. Once I got a good bit on my hair, I brushed it on my regrowth and then used my fingers to mix it in good. One tube of color was enough to do my whole head. I let it on for between 30-35 minutes. Rinsed it in cool water until the water ran clear. Then, I used a sulfate free shampoo & hydrating conditioner mask. I love the results! My hair is just as healthy looking as it was before I colored it.

Received 6pk quickly (had to dye my roots for upcoming event and had not time to go to store). What I really liked also about this purchase is that I struggle with remembering the codes I used when buying at store individually and so now finding it sold as a 6pk, really helps to eliminate that confusion and trying to remember or find out what was previously used. I used 1 bottle and when I noticed this dye didn’t dye my greys, I reached out to seller (a cosmetologist) and was provided detailed information on suggested use and with which developer to use as well as recommendations. Took the advice, made 2nd attempt and am so glad I reached out bc my hair is now a gorgeous brown throughout that I’d been trying to get with other dyes forever. Greys are gone until next dye job. There was no fowl smell and left my hair feeling softer! Really like this dye now. It has not faded at all. Only roots to dye due to growth but color has remained which has not been the case with other permanent dyes.

The product is good for color if you’re looking for a medium-dark red. The downside the product doesn’t seem to last long unless you use a color protection shampoo/conditioner.I do like how the price seems way affordable since you’re getting 3 hair dye boxes vs paying 10 dollars for 1 box at Sally’s.
