Does not work what so ever used it for 2 barrels an it broke.... not worth 10 bucks

Harder to use than expected, however did a great job

We finally used this and it stripped all the gears out on the first use. Only made it 6” before failure.

Shear-pin inside broke on first drum. Took it apart and tac-welded it to get through the 12 drums we needed to dehead. Got through 2 more, and then the cut wheel bent on an angle so it no longer cuts the heads off drums. Ordered a wesco brand one. Don't buy this! Whoever invented this: I hope your ketchup forever has tons of the clear stuff come out first.

The first deheader I received had a broken gear. After having it replaced it cut the first barrel perfectly, on the second barrel while cutting with a ratchet wrench the replacement broke and now it is too late to replace without paying for the return shipping and taking a restocking fee out of my purchase price. This is the biggest, most expensive piece of junk that I have ever purchased from AMAZON.

Great idea, with practice works well. Disappointed with the assembly, cutting wheel wouldn't turn and the retaining pin only partly in. Had to remove and descale inside cutter , refit. Amazing the difference. A little care goes along way. All mention that the card board box packaging was almost completely destroyed on arrival. Just as well item was quite robust. Not good for promoting more sales?

The "vice grip" clamp immediately pops open requiring that to be held instead of the handle and as a result it doesn't like to stay on the lip because you have no leverage. The drive teeth that grip the outside lip aren't hardened well enough and smoothed over on 1 barrel and cutting wheel isn't sharp enough to pierce. 20 minutes and failed to remove 1 drum head. Then I find out its non returnable. With there had been a review before I bought it, so now you've been warned!

I purchased this after trying half a dozen of the "blue" type from Northern Tool. I have around 100 drums to open every 6 months. The "Blue" type are hit or miss and don't last longer than 6 barrels on average, this one opened one. It was a real difficult to keep on the rim of the barrel and the one lid it did cut we had to go around 3 times. NOT WORTH THE MONEY-- DO NOT BUY!!!

Should be ZERO stars. Broken after 1 use and not eligible for return. STAY AWAY AND DO NOT BUY!!!!

Can’t cut drum tops off with a piece of human poop. Fact. If you want to perfect how NOT to get the lid off a barrel, you definitely gotta get yourself one of these!!
