As a shade tree mechanic and do it yourselfer I believe pro tools are the start of pro results. Forget your trendy gimmick tools let's get down to the hard stuff. This is a get it done without compromise wrench, bites, does not round, fast and far better than a pipe wrench or slip pliers that just round and pop. Expensive yup. But what's it worth to do it right every time. Weight is about the same as an aluminum pipe wrench but stands up to abuse like my old heavy steel ones.

If you are fitting gas pipe (black) there is no other option. Makes gripping the pipe a no brainer and adjusting between pipe fittings and pipe sizes is super easy.That is after you figure out how to use it, . . .. which is a bit of a learning curve but once you figure it out, you'll never go back to the classic monkey wrench

This is an excellent tool. I've used it alongside a conventional (Stillson pattern) pipe wrench. They both have their advantages. This one was much easier for me to get a secure bite in cramped quarters where i couldn't easily reach the nut on the Stillson wrench with my 2nd hand, and the narrow head design was also a benefit.

Fast setting of pipe size and really strong grip with great leverage. Very useful in removing 80+ year old galvanized fittings that couldn't easily be cut. Also use Marvel oil in this application and wear gloves to protect your hands.

They went a little heavy on the paint but other then that they are great

Great wrench. I’m a master plumber gas fitter. Works well on fitting but works better on threaded pipe. Wrench holds pipe like pair of vise grips. It won’t replace my aluminum pipe wrench on fittings, but it will on round pipe. I Definitely carry it in my everyday box.

These are pricey, but I like them a lot. Not a replacement for a conventional pipe wrench, but the narrow jaws come in very handy sometimes, and it grips the pipe exceptionally well. Highly recommended.
