Good Product .
I was introduced to Yerba Mate about 15 yrs ago by my Colombian friends and I have been hooked ever since . The surprising thing is that I knew the Brazilians consume Mate but I assumed it was the same one as the other ones . It was only a month ago that I realized it was different. Chimarrao as it is called has a vibrant green color that I like. The radiant green color reminded me of Green Tea or Spirulina that I have always taken . So I went right away and ordered the Chimarrao . It is very powdery but that didn’t bother me . Not to disrespect my South American consumers of Mate but I do not use a Bomba to prepare my Mate . As a Herbalist I use a French Press or a Glass Tea Pot with Infuser. First let me say that this green color is significant. It tells you that it has an abundance of Chlorophyll which purifies and Magnesium for the Bones and the Heart and energy production. I can understand why those of you who used the Bombas have clogging issues , because it clogged my French Press as it wouldn’t depress ! But I wasn’t angry . I just did it a different way with the Teapot Difuser. This tea is very dense as a lot of the green powder goes directly in the tea so it’s more filling . The taste is more earthy , grassy or herbal than regular Mate but it clears my mind and give s me energy. For me it has a rich taste and I will always have this Brazilian Mate .Sometimes I mix the Chimarrao with Green Tea or other Mates . The two other Mates that I take are Playadito and Rosamonte . The package came fast and the vacuum seal was so good I thought I ordered a Brick‼️😀 Will buy again and again . Last but not least let me say thanks to all of you who wrote reviews on this Product as I read almost all of them before purchasing it.

Well-balanced organic chimarrão
Popular for centuries in South America, yerba mate is now gaining popularity in America due to the theobromin content that leads to mood enhancement and balances the effects of the caffeine, though the amount of caffeine is quite small compared to coffee or most black teas. While the benefits of mate have long been established, mate made with fresh, (bright green) leaves is emerging as having a denser nutritional profile in terms of vitamins and antioxidants. However, as with green tea, green mate has some bitterness. With the chimarrão type of mate in Brazil, this is softened by the addition of ground stems, and chimarrão can take very long brewing times with increased depth of flavor but no increased bitterness. The flavor of Ximango is a little stronger than Cultyvada, the softest and most malty imported chimarrão at this point. With all type of mate, bitterness is diminished with lower temperature brewing water (65 to 80C is common), or with small amounts of unrefined, whole organic cane juice sugar. As awareness of the health risks of the large amount of refined white sugar common to the standard American diet increase, the benefits of moderate use of an organic unrefined sugar (which is metabolized far more slowly and has a complex variety of beneficial nutrients) are becoming more well known. Still, be aware of the various semi-refined sugars in the marketplace, as these do not have nearly the unique nutritional potential of truly unrefined organic cane juice sugar. Also, as an alternative to sugar, *very* small amounts of naturally sweet herbs like fennel seeds, licorice root, or Ceylon cinnamon can be added to the brewing cycle of chimarrão to get a rounder flavor.

great if you have the right straw.
this is better and worse then other yerba mate. I've bought around 5 different brands so far, mostly the cheaper brands. out of all them this is probably the greenest mate I've bought to date. i think only the most expensive brand I've bought tasted better then this one. but why only 4 stars if it is cheap, tastes good, and is probably fresher and better dried then other brands? it would be the particle size. i have 3 different bomba straws and all of them will let particles from this yerba mate into my mouth. i mean sure that happens with all the other brands too. but that first pull from my straw probably has 2 to 5 times the amount of leaf fragments in that 1 sip then I'd get from drinking a whole cup worth of other yerba mate brands and i have to strategically hover my straw mid drink to get the least amount of leaf in my mouth. if you have a very fine filter mesh for your straw and you don't mind blowing bubbles to unclog it after every sip, then this mate would probably be an excellent way to get higher quality flavor at a bargain basement price. but if you have yee old standard yerba mate straw with holes punched into metal and not some modern industrial style mesh. then you might not want this brand. it's not bad, I'm just not set up for this brand. also, after trying a bunch of different cheaper mates. sometimes they can be almost all stem pieces. I'd avoid those as it takes a lot more mate to get the same flavor and effect. the bonus to this one is that while it does have stems in it, it has a lot less then other cheap brands. good luck everyone!

So good — if you are new to Yerba mate get this
Smells and tastes so good! Wasn’t expecting it to be so big, after almost two months I still wasn’t done with it (I drink it every Sunday). By then, the sweet smell and taste was gone, had to unfortunately dispose it. But I will be repurchasing it, it’s great for focusing during finals week.

Delicious and Benificial
I love yerba mate and alternate between several brands, drinking a different one everyday. The exception is Ximango which I drink every other day. According to the information on the package, the shelf life of Ximango, once opened is only month, so I want to finish it before it goes bad. However it has been at least two months since I opened the package, and it is still delicious! It has enough caffeine in it to keep me alert without jangling my nerves. It also helps my digestion and reduces gastric discomfort when I drink it. I would recommend it to any yerba mate lover.
