TMK - Tactical Mic Klip | Two-Way Radio Microphone Clip for First Responder Uniforms

I bought the previous version at a local tactical store. I believe it was the version made in China. It broke in about 2 months not necessarily because there was a defect in the manufacturing per se (they look virtually identical to the newer model) but because the material they used was too hard and brittle. Mine broke because as I struggled to slip the "hook" underneath the button holding my epaulette, I pressed down to hard on the microphone clip holder (the part with the TMK logo stamped on it in the picture) and the plastic fractured. I have had this version which I purchased on Amazon now since the late summer of 2012 and it is still working perfectly. I noticed that the material is a little more flexible than the older version so it has a little more give and take when you are trying to work it underneath a button. It is a great idea for holding a radio microphone: simple, discreet, light-weight (you don't notice it's there whether you are wearing a microphone or not), functional and much more comfortable than clipping your microphone to your epaulette. I don't wear my radio all day long. I put it on and take it off several times a day and this is a snap to do with this product.

I was tired of having my shoulder mic slipping off my uniform shirt and was looking for a solution that would take care of the problem and keep a nice appearance. This product does exactly that. I've used it for a few weeks and I am very happy with the way it works and looks. I like using it on the front of my uniform shirt on the second button from the top. I either wrap the shoulder mic behind my back and through my right side epaulette and clip it to the TMK or run the shoulder mic up the left front side of my body and clip it to the TMK. Either way works fine but I find that having the shoulder mic wrapped around my back puts the mic in a better position to transmit specially when driving since the seat belt doesn't interfere and the mic is closer to my face. The only position that I don't like is if I clip the TMK to the epaulette button since it leaves the mic at an awkward position because the shirt collar gets in the way. I don't like this position anyway because I think that it's better to have the mic at the center of your body since it's easier to keep your sight straight ahead. Oh and I forgot to mention, my mic doesn't slip off anymore. Highly recommended!

Use this to hold my mic at the center of my chest. Mic never slips off and is always in the exact spot I need it to be. Only problem I have is that its a pain in the butt to get it hooked on the shirt button. But I guess that's why it stays on so well.

Your uniform will fail before the mic clip will. I know this because I used this specific clip for years on the job.This is a simple and ingenious product that I know was born out of nessessity. Wearing a mic all day and having it slip off is a pain and a safety concern.If you wear a uniform (shirt, outer vest, etc.) with standard sewn on buttons, this clip will secure your mic very well.*** I recommend adding some extra threads to reinforce the button you clip this to. ***

Have been using these at work for a while now and when running to an incident or going hands on this has performed amazing. Watching other people show up with their mic on the ground reassures me it was well worth the money!

This product was referred to my husband by a fellow officer. He truly loves it because he’s now able to have a mic attached to him without it dangling on his uniform. It is true to its size and universal to all mics!

Of all of the reviews I haven't seen anyone with this issue, perhaps it's just me or the way I use this. A good 90% of the time I attach my microphone to the mic hanger on my vest. However, on off duty or side jobs I wear a polo shirt and use a similar although discontinued item to attach it to the highest button of the shirt. The other one is a good two inches wide, and works well although the design doesn't make it easy to attach or detach the microphone from it. I bought this one because it appeared that the microphone would be much easier to attach. However, because it's so much narrower than the old one the microphone does not stay flat against my chest, it flops all over from side to side. It's very annoying, to the point that I don't want to use it. If it had a wider footprint it would suit my purposes much better.
