WORX is my goto for all my home gardening & maintenance
This company is EXCELLENT!!!! I cannot sing their praises enough!! Customer service is a BREEZE !and their tools are POWERFUL and get the job done! I have gotten some good deals, GREAT Customer support and service, and great life and use out of the many WORX gardening tools I have and use (i.e. Lawnmower, blower, trimmer, etc). Now, I will get a shearer for some extra plants I have now. This trimmer is SO VERSATILE! It just is great as BOTH an edger and as trimmer (Weed hacker). My grass is SUPER THICK, and I have so much to edge (due to a lot of Stones and paths). With this trimmer, ..thanks to its versatility in switching from trimmer to edger and back again... I get it done MUCH FASTER (unlike the Black and Decker that I used to have...which would Hhhhm and Haaww...and was harder to work with, not to mention was almost twice as heavy) this lightweight thing gets to WORK and it WORX!!!!....chopping through thick weeds like a butter knife! I feel like a Garden Ninja, almost using the trimmer. Easy and powerful. The Price is GREAT! You are not getting overcharged and get a quality powerful product. It's a USA company and the customer support is GREAT and COMMUNICATION excellent for all the tools that I've order so far. I have several batteries that are ALL interchangeable and swap out, they charge very quick especially if you buy a Quick charger. the 40V batteries last so long, I don't need to recharge it if I'm doing front yard and backyard of a 3 bedroom / 2 bathroom house. So I love the Quick charger, sometimes when the Battery does run out when I'm using it on the other tools (blower to get the leaves out during the fall). Been using Worx since summer 2020 and no complaints and have gotten a nice set of tools!

Worked very well for what I needed
Bought this model because shaft length is adjustable. I'm 6'2" tall and it worked perfectly for me. the head is adjustable so it remains parallel to ground when shaft length is changed. A very nice feature. I've not tried the edger feature but I imagine the rolller guide wheel will make that job much easier.summary: Very good run time with fully charged battery. Light and easy to use. I recommend this as a substitute for most gas powered trimmers. I was able to power through some taller grass with no issues. Frankly, I ran out of stuff to trim so for an average house I'm guessing a single battery will do the job. It is important to charge each before use. It takes along time (hours) so an overnight charge is best. Note: for me, this trimmer/ line combination will not cut down thicker stuff like saplings. But I didn't expect it to.

Wheels are the only real problem
Update (No star changes): The duck tape didn't hold the retainer in place. Well, it held it to the wheel assembly, but the screw still came out of the trimmer. I have now added a bit of cut-off zip tie into the hole, replaced the duck tape, and reinstalled the wheels yet again. Eventually, I'm going to figure out a way to get these wheels to stay in place. Original review follows. This is the third one of these trimmers we've purchased. The trimmer itself works well, is easy to reload with string, and does the edging and trimming a smaller lawn might need. "Smaller," in Texas, means up to 10,000 square feet on the lot - which the house, driveway, sidewalks and landscaping cuts in to.You can wind your own spools fairly easily, and the batteries last maybe three years at the outside. Since two batteries and a charger cost only slightly more than a complete unit with two batteries and a charger, we opt to replace the entire unit when the batteries inevitably fail. I don't care who makes the batteries, anything around this price point is going to fail in two to three years. The only problem is the wheel mounting mechanism. It is a plate that you slide the wheels on to. The plate becomes loose over time, and you have to tighten it. But since you've tightened it before, the wheels start becoming harder and harder to put onto the mounting plate. The REAL problem is you cannot tighten the mounting screw with the wheels in place. On our last unit, a bit of duck tape (thanks, Red Green, for the idea) and ingenuity kept the wheels in place, but a better design would negate the need to jury rig the unit to keep the wheels in place. Note that we don't move the wheels from one mounting spot to the other; we leave them installed in the edging position. There is really no excuse for them to loosen over time, but it has happened exactly the same way with both of the previous units we purchased. If you're looking for a light-weight, low-cost, easy-to-use and reload trimmer that also does a decent job edging, this unit will work just fine. Just be aware that you'll need new batteries in three or so years, because they are batteries, not because this is made by Worx.

Get's the Job Done
I just used my new Worx trimmer for the first time. It got the job done nicely. I'm impressed with the way it cut through most grass and weeds. It only slowed down when I got to a couple of patches of dense cane grass, but it didn't stop. It cut through a pretty dense patch of grass that had grown over a foot tall too. It took a bit of angling and patience on that area, but it got the job done. The automatic line feed is AMAZING and easy to use. The battery lasted about a half hour and then I switched it out to the 2nd battery to finish the job. The charger only holds one battery at a time. It would be nice if both batteries could be charged at once. I don't normally do this kind of work so my forearms and wrists are pretty sore despite the trimmer being relatively light weight, so I plan to add a shoulder strap to improve comfort. It was easy to clean up when I was finished. I like that it folds back up small so I can store it inside with the blower. Overall, a great tool!
