The strongest brackets I have found.
I created floating live edge wood shelves from high quality wood so it was really dense. drilling the holes was pretty difficult to get straight; you can't just use a wireless saw, you need a heavy duty one with a long spade. the brackets fit in drills that are mostly only in the plug in kind and if you've never used one before, they are VERY powerful and you must use the grip or you can get injured. all in all, the brackets themselves are easy to install once you know what you're doing and they are very sturdy.

Works as expected and required. Here's how I did it...
(1) Found two wall studs & predrilled. (2) Very, very carefully marked the edge of the shelf with the location of the drilled holes. (3) Screwed these shelf brackets into the predrilled wall studs. I had to use locking pliers to turn the brackets. (4) Very carefully drilled, freehand, into the edge of the shelf at the alignment marks from the wall studs. (NOTE: The recommended diameter of 27/64 would be too large and awkward to drill without working up to it. Started with a more accurate and manageable small bit and increased until the 24/64 bit was just a slight increase in diameter. Worked like a charm.) (4) Painted shelf while being careful not to get paint into the newly drilled holes. (5) When paint was dry the shelf slid right onto the pegs. Smooth and uneventful. The shelf is sturdy for my needs. Although for seriously heavy loads I would still use stud mounted, right angle shelf brackets.

Have realistic expectations.
Some of the reviews were expecting white glove service. These are exactly what they say they are, wish they were a little stronger, but they’re plenty strong. You’ll need a 7/16 bit and some sort of jig to drill 90° holes. All in, you can get nice shelving for cheap.

Have the right tools for the job.
These worked exactly as I hoped. I used a 3/4” wood for the shelf and measured carefully and they went up without a hitch. There were some negative reviews, but as long as you have the right tools and take your time, your finished product will be great. One important specialty tool is a center hole guide to drill the shelves and a way to make sure the holes in the wall are perpendicular.

Requires Precise Drilling. Plastic Anchors Require 3/4" Drywall to Work.
I bought these brackets to hang a 1 1/16 inch thick floating shelf/mantel over a fireplace. I was able to anchor two of the brackets into studs. I used a drill guide to insure the holes were perpendicular to the wall. When I drilled the third hole through drywall, I discovered the supplied plastic anchor did not secure the bracket when I screwed it in. This is because the drywall in my house is 5/8" thick but the anchors work only with 3/4" drywall. I also discovered the local hardware store does not carry any sort of anchor large enough to work with the brackets. I elected to put a short 3/8 inch dowel in the shelf to align with the hole in the drywall. I should note this shelf will not have to bear any significant load, so I think the two brackets anchored in the studs should be adequate to support it. When it comes to drilling the holes in the shelf, a drill press would be very helpful for accuracy. Since I don't currently have one, I used the drill guide and a hand drill to put 1/4" pilot holes in the shelf, which I subsequently enlarged to the recommended 27/64." If you don't have a method to drill perpendicular holes 4 inches deep, I would recommend you look for another method to hang a floating shelf. Mounting the shelf once everything was drilled was fairly easy. The threaded portion of the brackets are off center, so turning the bracket will allow fine tuning of the alignment of the brackets with the holes in the shelf. Overall, I'd say this system works, but it' not for the inexperienced or faint-hearted do-it-yourselfer.

very sturdy
I ordered these for a small floating shelf --- these are extremely well made and you can actually stand on them if you anchor it to a stud --- but too strong for a small shelf so i will use them for other applications but over all very good

A must for floating shelves
Easy to use. I needed to purchase a drill guide of 27/64 and the same size drill bit in order to assure an accurate, straight drilling into the wood. I will likely purchase more of these bracket.

WARNING: Buy at your own peril
I usually don't write product reviews. I'm almost certain I've never given a one star rating. But I feel obligated to warn people that this product is a scam. I came across this product on a YouTube video titled "Easy DIY Floating Shelves, the Best Floating Shelf Bracket?" by Neil LoveGrove. Neil made the install look easy and intuitive so I bought this product to install three 2" x 12" x 32" shelves. Mind you, I have a years worth of experience doing renovations on my own house so I was confident that even if the install was more difficult than Neil made it out to be I'd be able to make it work. Boy was I wrong. First, drilling straight holes into the shelves and getting everything lined up perfectly is ridiculously difficult without the proper equipment, which BATODA does not provide or even warn you that you need. NOTE: if you do decide to buy this product, which I highly recommend you don't do, you will need to get a drilling jig to keep your holes straight and the right auger bit to drill the holes. Second, even when you do get everything lined up perfectly, the product is very weak. Once I had the shelf mounted against the wall it sagged with only a little weight, and under greater loads the metal bracket bent. Total garbage. Consider yourself warned.

These couldn’t hold up a thing. The plugs that came with it just spun and offered zero support so these didn’t work at all. I’m hoping in some way they may be better if directly used with a stud, but don’t always expect to find another stud where you need it. I tried other ways to attach directly to drywal and to make something else, all of which completely failed and this just fell out. Buyer beware, only good for studs.
