So I'm a serious Home Chef, make orders for clients as well as my own family. I'm hard on my knives and because they're a substantial investment you of course want them super-sharp. The most dangerous thing in a kitchen ( beside you! :) is a dull knife~ I bought an electric fancy-shcmancy knife sharpener about a year ago that left a lot to be desired; my knives just didn't get that much of an edge with it. Then I bought THIS lil guy and BAM!!!! My knives are beautifully sharpened and hold a great fine edge for a long time. I held back giving it 5 stars only because for folks with joint pain, you have to use a good bit of pressure to pull the knife with downward pressure through the slots. My son is an Executive Chef and says he's used the same one & loves it, said the restaurants MAKE you wear the metallic glove that comes with it, which is brilliant protection. Ill be buying more of these over time but I have yet to wear this one out!!! HIGHLY recommended~

There are still so many types, styles, materials and methods for sharpening knives to make it difficult to decide what type of sharpener is most effective for the various knives I have. Opinions vary. The Peakally 3 in one sharpener offers three sharpening bays to correct most abused forgotten blades or to hone your prized every day carry to the sharpness you insist on without costing a fortune or giving it to a professional to hone. In short, for me, it gets the job done.

I cannot rave about this but I can say that it works. I have some expensive sharpeners... even electric ones that use high-grit sandpaper(s). They all shave the metal knife blades in some manner. This one also takes off metal filings... so, it must work. Do the blade edges hold up? I don't know... but that's more a function of the knife than it is the sharpener. So, between the vast number of sharpeners of this shape and style, I have to shave off a star because I don't really know how "excellent" it is. So... it worked; it worked well. My blades were sharpened.

I've previously owned the smaller knife sharpeners that forces your hand to be way to close to the blade but also isn't very sturdy to hold in place. This knife sharpener fixes both of those issues as the handle provides a way for you to wrap your entire hand around it while keeping your fingers far away from the blade/sharpener. It even comes with a glove to further prevent accidentally cutting yourself. The base of the sharpener has a rubber grip on both ends and works really well. The sharpening performance is excellent (although I don't really use the ceramic section since I don't own any ceramic knives). Highly recommended.

I like the sharpener, I bought it to help keep the knives at work sharp, but once I tried sharpening the knives I realized their blades are so damage that sharpening isn't the real issue here. Buying new ones will only be the solution. Once I do that, then I expect this knife sharpener to keep them sharp and safe.

Christmas Gift for kids starting their own apartment -- everyone needs a decent knife sharpener. This will fill the bill until they learn they need something better!

SO FAR I HAVE SHARPENED MOST EVERY KNIFE I HAVE. WOW, WHAT A DIFFERENCE IN THE CUTTING EDGE. NO WONDER THINGS WOULDN'T CUT WHEN THEY WERE ACTUALLY VERY DULL. NOW I HAVE MY KNIVES BACK. MY OLD ELECTRIC SHARPENER HAS BEEN RETIRED.!!!!!

Its easy to use but the sharpness on the knives doesn't last. That may be the knives fault and not the sharpener.
