Works great
This replaced a tired smoke detector that kept going off even with small particles in the air.

Easy to install.
Replaced my ~20 year old smoke detector with an almost identical unit. It fit the ceiling mounting bracket of my old one, so installation was extremely easy.

Simple, Quality Smoke Detector
This is a "no frills" smoke detector from a trusted name. My previous model lasted 10 years before it started to malfunction. I like it's simple design, with just one button to test and hush. It has a blinking light when the battery is low to hopefully avoid the annoying "chirping". Overall, a good product at a reasonable price.

Really, Really Loud
The Kiddie 21026051 Smoke Detector is a proficient yet budget smoke detector, if not a really loud one. You'd think with a $10 smoke detector it wouldn't work well, but it's exactly the opposite; it does its job well, but perhaps a bit too well, as this thing will blare if it detects even the slightest whiff of smoke or even water vapor -- and it's really, really loud. I'm slightly hard of hearing and listen to music full-blast all the time, and this thing will make me want to cover my ears being even moderately close to it. If you stand anywhere near this thing without ear protection it'll make your ears ring for about 10 minutes after you silence it.If you're someone who's very paranoid of fires, and you want something that's sensitive and really loud -- this is the one without a doubt. Buy 5 of them.If you're someone who's not very scared of fire risks, or you use a wood heater/burn your food/boil large pots of water. This isn't the one for you as it will leave no slack.

Loud when Tested and Easy to Mount
I don't think I'm qualified to say whether these are useful in a fire emergency. I bought a few because the reviews were decent, they are cheaper priced, and I wanted to get at least 3 for starters. The included battery is easy to put in, they are easy to test, loud when tested, mounting them onto the ceiling isn't hard so long as you have a basic drill, drill bit, screwdriver, a pen, and step-stool.The other stuff is included well: the actual alarm, the mounting-thingy that it reverse spins into, the two screws, the two drywall anchors, white thingy, a 9V battery, paperwork. How well it actually detects smoke, I can't say. Which yeah, sounds like I am absolutely wasting your time, but I don't feel like starting minor fires to test it.But yeah, easy to install and the button test of the alarm is loud.

GO OFF ALL THE TIME FOR NO REASON !!!
This WOULD BE A GOOD, LOUD SMOKE ALARM EXCEPT , it goes off all the time for no reason . I got two when I bought them and not long after installing one went off ( alarmed ) with no reason . I placed the other one in the same spot and in only a few minutes it did the same . The batteries were new . It tested good . They just goes off for no reason . Just now I had one in place , was watching TV and had a window air conditioner turned on . The alarm began . I had to take it down . If air from an air conditioner causes them to alarm , what the hell can you do ? It’s summer and the air needs on around the clock , but these things will wake you from a peaceful sleep with nothing more than having the air conditioner on . It’s good they will wake you , but they are supposed to do so if you have a fire , not from trying to keep cool on a hot GA night . They have a warranty which is still in affect ad I only ordered them three months or so ago , but when you buy through Amazon , who do you complain too ? Amazon should refund one’s money on these . I will need to find another brand to be protected . It’s all a lot of crap and I would advise anyone considering this brand to forget it and purchase any other brand .

Good detector for the money
I'm renting a small house, so it really wasn't worth investing $55 or more on a deluxe detector to merely replaceone old cheaper one that recently expired (but wasn't user-battery-replaceable), all the other roomsare currently well-covered with detectors, and Home Depot stocks Kiddedetectors, but the prices are absurdly high in many cases. Why, I dunno, but I got one on here andit showed up the next day (today), and I just installed it, took maybe 15 minutes tops, hardware comespacked inside the battery compartment, place battery, remove yellow tape, lock compartment, measure and markholes for bracket, or for the anchors too, and use a good power driver (I use a good Black and Deckerrechargeable for everything, and it's great!) and you are in business! Very easy.Just press and hold button to test, and that's it. I'll see over time how it performs, but it seemsdecent quality for the money for now, looks good, and was easy to install. If you need to cover a lot ofsmaller rooms with solid detectors, and not invest thousands of dollars or so, these should work well.If you need full smoke/CO dual detectors in each room, these won't fit the bill, of course.
