Excellent in every way
We had a problem with mice getting into our crawl space. Expensive electrical damage! These fit our openings well, and are sturdy and mice proof. And we can close them off during the winter to save heating costs. Best we could have found.

Looks original and is decently made. Needs to be cemented in place.
I have a ranch with a concrete block foundation and brick cladding. The existing aluminum vents were mortared into place in the top row of blocks, below the brick. The screens have rotted or been chewed away over the years, and most require a hammer to operate. A few had big pieces busted out where vermin were able to freely enter the crawlspace. Flush-mount vents using set screws were not an option because the brick hangs over the concrete block in some locations on the home. Style-wise, these replacement vents are very similar to the originals. Functionally, there are some differences:1. The old vents were screwed together. Of course, the screws were useless because they were steel and had long since seized. The new ones are riveted, but the fit is looser between the two pieces. Therefore the sliding piece feels a bit wobbly, and the closure isn't as tight. This might be fixable by tapping the rivet head down a bit before installation.2. The mounting tabs, meant to extend over the adjacent blocks during installation, are a bit longer. Therefore I had to chip out some additional mortar. These vents are meant to be cemented into place, but this is a vastly superior mounting system compared to cheesy set screws. I had excellent results with quick-setting Cement-All from the orange big box store. Smack out the old vent and chisel away enough mortar so that the new vent fits into the space. Then mix up some quick-setting cement and place four globs around the perimeter to hold it in place as you set it vertical. (It's useful to have a helper on the other side.) Once the cement sets (five minutes), mix up more and smear it around the border on front and back to secure.A mouse would have to grab the screen by the edge, bend the ragged edge forward, and slip behind to enter. I don't see that happening, and the grille spacing is too small for larger rodents. Enough air bypasses a typical closed vent that I see no need to open them, provided radon levels and humidity are controlled.

Arrive quickly well built.
Much heavier duty than I anticipated. Happy with the purchase. These are a little more expensive than I saw on another site, but I needed them ASAP and could not get them as quickly from anyone else as I could through Amazon.

Good value
Durable cast aluminum crawl space vent. Does exactly what it's supposed to and needs you to do. Good quality construction, cast aluminum. Not stamped.

Very sturdy item though
Only thing on this item, is that the screen isn't attached. It just floats inside the frame. On the one end, a rodent could get in, such as a mouse. Very sturdy item though.

It was exactly what I was looking for
I used it for my addition on my house, it wasn’t properly air vent. It was easy to install and worked great. Even has a lever to close the vents for the winter time. Worth the money. Priced well.

Not quite right...
Pro:heavy duty aluminum would hold up to weather and abuse, really strong frame.Cons:1. There is no apparent way to mount it to an existing vent, this must be for new construction only where you can embed it in the concrete. There are no screw holes and no mounting brackets of any type.2. This one is particularly bad... The screen mesh is not connected to the frame making entry for rodents super easy, there also appears to be no way to attach the mesh to the frame.3. I was not expecting the frame to be over one inch deep, again it will not work for my purpose of attempting to retrofit my plastic crappy foundation vents.I can't recommend this product to you.

Better Than I Expected
I did not realize these were all metal construction even though it says they are. My old ones were all plastic. These should last a lifetime.
