Does not now mix with alcohol!
This Hornady Unique case lube has changed formulation! BEWARE of using it thinned with Alcohol! This newer version Works great for reloading rifle brass and is easily wiped off or tumbled off after sizing with no damage to dies or powder charges. Many videos abound on You-Tube stating that by using this “Hornady Unique” paste lube thinned with 91% isopropyl alcohol it can be used in a spray bottle for applying lube for casings!! DON’T Do This as it is a different lube altogether and it clumps and does not dissolve in Alcohol and now contains mink oil as well as lanolin and IS NOT THE Same formulation of years past. I purchased pure lanolin and mixed it with 91% isopropyl and it works fine especially after steel pin wet tumbling and ceramic media wet tumbling. The thin lanolin is not harmful and will not harm your skin and the alcohol used only as a vehicle for spraying, dissipates after a 10 minute settling. This works great for the newer “Mighty Armory” full carbide resizing die after deburring in ceramic tumble media. This ceramic tumbling removes any and all mouth burrs and brass residue which could damage a carbide full length sizer.

Very Little Goes a Long Way
This was recommended to me by an experienced reloader. I got the tube of lube with my Lee Turret Press, but never used it. I went straight to the RCBS lube pad and have been using it up until now. This Hornady lube is now my go to. I use SO little of this stuff -- basically I touch the compound and put a ring on the case about a half inch below the shoulder. It should be a film of this stuff and no more. I would almost try to wipe the RCBS lube completely off, but with this stuff, I do a decent wipe. (Some may choose to leave it on.) Results have been consistent -- no issues with cases getting stuck or hard to resize. This little tube is going to last forever. Highly recommended.

Good Stuff
I've been at this reloading game since 1961 and have tried everything imaginable to lube cases but this is the absolute best yet. It is not greasy and cleans off very easily. I got no dents in the shoulder/neck area and go by with only lubing every other case but I always lube the inside of every case neck to prevent stretching. I bought a new RCBS lube pad just for this lube. As I type this, I only wiped my fingers off with an old tee shirt where as before, with the old sticky stuff, I would have had to scrub my hand and fingers before hand. Did I mention it's not greasy?? I love this stuff. Thanks, Hornady.

No complaints
So far, there doesn't seem to be any issues, I've never had any stuck cases or dented brass, but I did get a couple of expander ball/decapping pins pulled out of my Lee resizing die when using this lube... not really a big deal as you just have to get the pin back into the die then re-tighten the collet.. this has only happened with Winchester brass for me. I usually sit all my cases in a reloading block and take a Q-tip and apply some Unique to the inside of ALL the case necks. I then rub some lube between my fingers and put a thin layer over the body of the cases... just enough so the case feels slippery is all that is needed. I suppose you could use a lube pad and roll the cases over it, but I don't mind the extra time to apply the lube individually as I only load smaller (50-100 round) batches at a time. If I were loading larger batches, I might consider the Hornady One-shot. I like Unique because I can use it indoors w/o breathing in any aerosol fumes. It has a sweet smell to it which isn't offensive or over-powering. I also like that it rubs off fairly easily and thoroughly with a paper towel.

It has the look and the consistency of white shoe creme. The prize/weight ratio is quite challenging, so I hope it will produce some magical cartridges which justify the price. ONCE in a lifetime buy for me. There are NO infos about the weight on this entity. Maybe for a reason. 2 Euro coin for size comparison.
